Day
EVERTON striker James Vaughan could still join Derby County on an emergency loan after the transfer window shut  but DJ Campell will not return to the Rams, writes TOM SLOAN. The Leicester City front runner yesterday joined Blackpool, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell last season. The pacy frontman was tempted back to Bloomfield Road to link up with his former team-mates after scoring nine times in 20 Championship appearances while on loan between January and June, 2009. Campbell was a success at Pride Park, scoring three times in eight matches, but his two months at the club were interrupted by FA Cup ties for which he was not eligible. Vaughan, meanwhile, remains a target for Nigel Clough as he seeks to add pace to his frontline, although the returns to fitness of Steve Davies and Kris Commons makes an addition up front less of a priority. The Rams boss said: “We spoke to Everton on Monday. If he did not go anywhere and he is available for loan, the agreement still stands that we will get first option on him.†http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/burtonmail-sport/displayarticle.asp?id=481320

vicky-27
and thats the end of that = Everton want a 6 figure signing on loan fee and want us to pay ALL of his wages ! Derby County were hoping to bring back James Vaughan for a further loan spell until the end of the current season but Everton have asked a ridiculous price for his services. Everton have said Vaughan is available for loan but with interest from the Rams and Coventry City the Toffees seem to have taken the opportunity to try and auction the striker off to the highest bidder. The fee just for the loan said to be involved is a six figure one. Added to this Everton want Vaughan's full wages paid whilst the loan is in operation. The fees obviously put a stop to any loan ideas from Derby and no further interest is expected from Coventry City. The Rams will now look to bring in other possible targets with a realistic loan price, with a view to purchasing further in the summer...

Day
Derby County are still hoping to bring Everton striker James Vaughan back to the club for a second spell. The Rams are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season and have drawn up a list of possible targets. Toffees ace Vaughan figures prominently in the thoughts of boss Nigel Clough and it is hoped he could be secured on a short-term loan deal. The 22-year-old forward moved to Pride Park on a similar agreement in September 2009, but saw his time with Derby cut short by a knee injury. Clough was keen to bring him in again later in the season, but missed out to East Midlands rivals Leicester. He is, however, optimistic regarding his chances of landing a top target this time around, and that includes making a possible move for Vaughan. "We are still trying to get a striker in and we are still talking to people about that," said Clough. "There are a few who interest us and James is one of them." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11671_6283403,00.html
