April 10, 201510 yr oh dear god, I've just private messaged @Ovis aries asking him to post an article about this! (my work pc prevents me posting articles for some reason)As for the news itself, RIP Richie. Helped me grow to love cricket. Real gentleman, excellent attitude and temperament as well as understanding the game. No arrogance about him whatsoever. One of the true greats in sports broadcasting.
April 10, 201510 yr As a player Richie would I suppose be in the top 10 all rounders .As a Captain with three Ashes victories he has to be right up their with the best.A s a commentator and personality in the game for me maybe only has one equal , John Arrlott.RIP
April 10, 201510 yr Sad to think that we will never hear that <insert team here> are "chew for chwenty chew" again.RIP Richie. Now where's my favourite Billy Birmingham album?
April 10, 201510 yr His ability to say " Australia wins the ashes " as if they were not a team or country he had anything to do with... Shows how commentators should be ... No bias or overplayed emotion. Lovely accent, mellifluous voice and a marrrrrrrvellous man.. Will be sadly missed.
