We all do realiase that we have the same team that completely and utterly embarrassed themselves in the World Cup only 8 months ago....??

Of course i still think they will win the Euros....but i also thought we would win in Italia 90....Sweden 92.....Euro 96...France 98..etc etc etc...didn't quite work out the way i hoped that is for sure.

Gerrard, Johnson, Baines, Wilshere, Lampard, Sturridge, Ox, Lambert, Shaw, Lallana, Foster, Forster.

Players that were in the World Cup squad and wasn't in the last squad, some by injury, not the same team tho.

Gerrard and Lampard are the only ones that wont be in the squad if every person is fit....maybe Johnson....

Lambert, Shaw wouldn't either. Sturridge and Wilshere are the Whitbread double act.

Fans moan that we don't try young new players, England try new young players and people moan they are no good and write them off.

Fans moan about international friendlies (This one was timed badly tho) yet expect the team to play well together instantly whilst introducing new players.

Club level most level headed fans will give players time to settle in before writing them off, not afforded that luxury at International level, it's madness. The only way England will improve is by having a settled side, giving them time together.

German World Cup winning team

Neuer (58), Lahm (113), Boatang (51), Hummels (39), Höwedes (32), Kramer (9), Schweinsteiger (109), Kroos (58), Müller (63), Özil (64), Klose (137)

Total Caps: 733

England v Lithuania

Hart (50), Clyne (3), Cahill (34), Jones (15), Baines (30), Henderson (20), Carrick (33), Delph (5), Sterling (14), Rooney (103), Welbeck (33)

Total Caps: 340

Italy v England

Hart (50), Smalling (16), Jagielka (35), Gibbs (7), Henderson (20), Jones (15), Delph (5), Rooney (103), Walcott (38), Kane (2)

Total Caps: 291

Oh and this was Italy's reserves, B team, C team

Buffon (147), Ranocchia (18), Bonucci (45), Chiellini (76), Florenzi (8), Parolo (9), Valdifiori (1), Soriano (3), Darmian (11), Citadin Martins (2), Pellè (3)

Total Caps: 323

Rather than blasting the players for not caring, not being good enough, just take a step back and look how little international football they have played. We need to give the team time to gel, can't keep calling for more youngsters to come in and expect them all to magically click and win a tournament.

All the World Cup winning teams are made up of experienced players with plenty of caps, look at the German team above, look at the Spanish team that was so dominate, Casillas (161), Ramos (126), Xavi (133), Iniesta (102), Villa (97), thats 619 for a 5 a side team. And when you look at the Spanish team is was mainly built up from Barca and Real players so not only international experience but club experience together in partnerships all over the pitch.

Spain lost last night, not one of those 5 players above started.

Experience, experience, experience. Only comes with time, time and more time.

Problem: Impatient fans that have unrealistic expectations that love to mock our national team, compare to other countries with far more experience without stopping for a second to actually think because FIFA has just match maked them in a new Ultimate Team game.

Just out of interest, Spain World Cup winning team

Casillas (161) - Real Mardrid

Ramos (126) - Real Madrid

Piqué (66) - Barca

Puyol (100) - Barca

Capdevila (60) - Villarreal

Busquets (74) - Barca

Alonso (114) - Madrid

Xavi (133) - Barca

Iniesta (102) - Barca

Pedro (48) - Barca

Villa (77) - Just signed for Barca

Only one player, 2 if you want to count Villa were playing for Barca or Real with a total of 1061 caps. Should point out that is todays caps, obviously minus a few but I can't get the stats for how many they had at the time. Not sure it really matters too much when you consider the experience together at club level.

Absolutely no wonder they were so dominate, I'll be interested to see how the new Spanish team does and how long it takes them to become anywhere near as dominate as that team was. Would an England team be  given that time together?

In the last 2 big friendlies v Germany and Netherlands they have lost both and only narrowly beat Ukraine 1-0 on Friday. That loss to German was a fairly new German side than what we've seen recently, a side that could only draw with Australia 2-2.

That's my lecture on international experience over. :)

We are top of the group and scored more goals than any other country in the compention I do think if england can get to the last 16 or 8. I say this team could well win it this time around but it will also mean need a bit of lady luck on the national side.
