Leicester City striker Paul Dickov is set to join rivals Derby County on a short-term loan. The veteran, who has been unsuccessful in his return to the Walkers Stadium after a spell away from the club with Blackburn, will stay at Pride Park until January.

Recent signings Martyn Waghorn, Paul Gallagher and Yann Kermorgant have all leapfrogged Dickov in the pecking order, prompting the Scot to ask for a temporary move away in search of first-team action.

Dickov will be unavailable for games against his parent club.

I'd rather Cloughie registered as a player and got his boots on than Paul Dickov, surely we can do better than taking Leicester's rejects on loan. Jon Stead on loan with a view to a permanent move would be a hell of alot better for a start.

scored 6 goals in seven appearances in the championship for the pool last season whilst on loan i think he would be ok as cover tbh especially with all the injuries of late and you never know cloughie could get the best out of him like a few other players

DERBY County are set to make a loan move for Leicester City's veteran striker Paul Dickov.

Dickov, 36, is in his second spell with the Foxes but has found his first-team chances limited so far this season.

Derby boss Nigel Clough is looking to bring in cover up front and Dickov is expected to join the Rams until January.

The former Scottish international could be signed in time to feature against Nottingham Forest this weekend.

I'm going to wake up in a minute and all this will be gone, it would of been a freaky dream I had after eating too much cheese. This is karma for taking the piss out that rabble down the road for signing Andy Cole last season.

Ha Ha Ha

Well chaps, Cloughie has out done himself with this decision.

As a Leicester fan I must admit I am over the moon with this. I have genuinely left a game as soon as Dickov has come off the bench for LCFC. He will get booked asap for some stupid foul, basicly kicking an opposing player because he is well past it.

He was a Mandaric signing, on a lot of £££££ at LCFC and every LCFC supporter is very very glad to see him gone until January.

See link

Well that was interesting reading and cheered me up no end thanks for that, I'm just off to the chemist to pick up a pack of extra sharp razor blades.

Sorry Dave. It says it all when you loan out Varney and loan in Dickov no? It is madness.

Dickov (I will be kind) struggled in League 1, he has no pace, actually the only effect he has had on a game is to get booked of generally piss off the opposition.

He had an operation at the back end of last season and he just seems completely lost on a football pitch now.

I wish I had something positive to say about this deal for Derby...... sorry.

Kin ell, what's the chance of it being a typo and Matty Fryatt is actually the player coming on loan?

He aint all that, but a 1000 times the player Dickov is now. Mate the source on FT is very reliable, it's even on BBC [url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/derby_county/8224717.stm]http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...nty/8224717.stm
