PistoldPete2
I didn't think Netherlands were that great either, every single goal was horrible defending. First was poor, second was atrocious, third was a foul, fourth was a bad mistake, fifth was terrible by Ramos. Netherlands definitely played well and deserved to win, but they weren't as good as people are making out. Spain were simply atrocious. Netherlands were great in attack, brilliant control by van Persie and Robben, the way they took their goals was amazing. Spain were pretty good first half but blown away in the second, could and should have been 7 or 8.
Ovis aries
You never know though what would have happened if Snieder had scored early on, the game after that would have been completely different, always bugs me when commentators say ( like last night ), if that early one had gone in it would be six now, they are talking out their ar se, may have been the only goal. RLACML
A large percentage of all goals come from mistakes. Very true. All goals probably come from mistakes. It wasn't just poor defending though, it was horrific.

Sure for maybe two of them, the second on of Robbens, he either scores or its a penalty, not really bad defending, just did them with sheer pace IMO :-). AndyinLiverpool
Yes and yes. If a defender leaves his leg trailing then it's a peno. Not necessarily

Ramos had a massive headstart, he has the opportunity to tackle him early but he tries to get to the ball first. Make the tackle or take him out well before the box, don't race him. Pique's defending for the second goal was the worst. What was he thinking? Like Robben's going to do anything else but try and get it on his left foot. Alph
That was one of the most boring 6 goal thriller ever. Second half was ok and great for Holland. Spain were actually boring though and I'm never one to call them that. David Silva trying to pass to Costa instead of shooting with a great chance... stupid. Can't help but think Spain came into that game with a lack of drive. Lazy, arrogant display and as usual Iniesta didn't deserve it. Still think they'll go on to the semi/quarter stage. Never really fancied them for this tournament for some reason.

Ramos had a start sure, but he never got near the ball, all he could do was bring Robben down and he is off, or wait till inside the area and its a penalty. neil62uk
Its plausible Spain could be on there way home .... Chile are capable of holding them to a draw ... Holland should beat Australia .. Holland v Chile could be A LETS SEND SPAIN HOME GAME ..... depends on whom fancies playing Brazil in next round

Holland v Chile could be A LETS SEND SPAIN HOME GAME ..... depends on whom fancies playing Brazil in next round A draw between Chile and Spain would leave Spain in a heap of trouble. Even if Chile lose to Holland then it could go down to goal difference and that 1-5 drubbing will certainly work against them. They'll need to go for a hat full of goals against Australia cos I can't see Holland going overboard to beat Chile by a boat load.
Dimmu
Robben made world record (in World cup) with his speed, 37 km/h. Pretty impressive if you think it was in the end of the game. http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/oranje/22740872/__Robben_snelste_voetballer_ooit__.html Yeah, lazy linker. Schteve would propably be the only one understanding what it says...
