Woodys woman
I'm glad they built wembley at London. Wouldn't be the same going to the play off final at a stadium in Birmingham, like it or not London is our capital and the right place for our national stadium. TomBustler1884
I found the acoustics very strange, like there was an echo. It was easy to make a racket but you couldn't really understand the words too well.

Yes. True. The reverb time is too long. There is a constant background din. Another unintended consequence of the roof.
ladyram
I like that it's in London aswell - but the actual bit of London it's in is a complete mess. It's a shame.
Alph
The whole area needs more grey. There really wasn't enough grey
ladyram
But we did have trees growing out of roof gutterings, so plenty of green ;-)
G STAR RAM
Although Wembley stadium is our national stadium it is a shame that The FA treat it more as a money making tool. The more and more they do this the more it devalues the experience for me.

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. I'd much prefer to trade a romantic notion of having our national stadium housed in our capital for the practicality of having it somewhere with good transport infastructure. Why not take a leaf out of the airports' book and put it 30 miles out of the capital but still call it London. I like that it's in London aswell - but the actual bit of London it's in is a complete mess. It's a shame. It must really impress overseas visitors when they see Wembley's surroundings. The whole area needs more grey. There really wasn't enough grey It did make make me smile when leaving the yellow coach/ carpark to see a grey concrete crumbling towerblock ironically named "The Quality Hotel". But we did have trees growing out of roof gutterings, so plenty of green ;-) We have the trees in the gutter around these parts aswell you know. ladyram
I know that but London is supposed to be where the money is. Wonder what visitors think when they see it. But it seemed not just a lack of money even though their mortgages must be huge - but also you can tell people just don't care what their houses look like, that's down to idleness. How hard is it to get a cloth and clean yer windows?

We said something similar - we saw some really large 20's or 30's semi-detached houses with cracked dirty render, filthy windows and unkempt front gardens. The word grotty springs to mind.
