Phoenix
I use Firefox browser and have done for years. Suddenly, if I try and play an embedded video clip, I get a blank screen. The sound's there, the progress bar works, just no picture. Any suggestions, other than 'don't use Firefox', and bearing in mind I'm a techie neanderthal? McRamFan
Check for updates (Firefox 29.0.1 is the latest) and see if any of your plug-ins need updating. Also check your copy of flash. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/776670?page=2 Has some good points.
Phoenix
Thanks for that. Checked the versions, all the latest. Did a Firefox restore, that hasn't solved it. Will look into it in more depth tomorrow.

Phoenix
Have you tried any other forums with embedded videos and do they work? The problem was with all embedded videos, not just the ones on this forum, and had been like this for a few days. I did a Firefox 'restore' as suggested in the support in McRamFan's reply. Although it didn't work after re-opening Firefox, after a subsequent system shutdown and reboot, the problem does seem to have been resolved. So thanks for the sensible suggestions, and nah nah ni nah nah to the rest. Is there a 'blow's raspberry' smiley?
