AEK Athens have stepped up their interest in Nottingham Forest striker"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1" alt="icon1"> Rafik Djebbour – but any move could depend on the Reds' ability to agree a pay-off with the Algerian.

Djebbour failed to make an impact at the City Ground following his January move from Olympiakos.

The 30-year-old, who started only three Championship"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1" alt="icon1"> games for the Reds, along with four sub appearances – scoring one goal – is understood to have held early talks with the Greek club, where he enjoyed a previous spell between 2008 and 2011, over a move.

Forest are believed to be willing to cut their losses on the player"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1" alt="icon1">, who is thought to earn as much as £30k a week, by allowing him to move on a free transfer to Athens.

But sources in Greece suggest the move will hinge on Forest's willingness to agree to pay off a portion of Djebbour's contract.

They thought Djebbour was only on loan, some how managed to buy him and pay for a loan as well, and now looking like they will have pay more to give him a free transfer!!!

The negotiation must have gone like this....right Fawaz you loan him for £1m until the end of the season and you pay him £40k a week, then at the end of the season you automatically purchase him for another £1m and agree a 2 year deal.  If you sell him or release him you have to pay his contract in full as well as pay us £1m as a moving on fee.

Don't worry Fawaz, everything is fine, it's how us Greeks do things...

Only at Forest...lol

He's signed for Huddersfield. 3.5 year deal.... The Leeds lad.

Why pick them over Forest? Seems a bit weird.

Maybe he's heard Neil Warnocks taking over at Huddersfield :D

At least if Fawaz was here we'd have put in a proper bid for George Thorne instead of going up by 50p each time.

He'd be in Derby right now. Having a medical. Bleep test, eye test, credit check, the lot.
