Martyn
http://www.gresleyfc.com/news/article/3343 Keeper Signs Gresley FC can now confirm that 20 year-old goalkeeper Mats Morch has signed on a short term loan from Championship side Derby County. Norwegian goalkeeper Morch signed professional terms with Derby County during the summer of 2012. He was spotted playing for a team called Mandal in Norway and after coming over for a trial period, he impressed the Rams enough to be offered a two-year scholarship in the Academy. He picked up a bad knee injury against Watford in his first season with the Club and it ruled him out for half of the season, but he bounced back to be a regular in the 2011-12 season but a dislocated shoulder ruled him out of the final weeks of the season. Morch has a great attitude and, as you would expect for a goalkeeper, he is incredibly brave. He has a good technique and, crucially, he is as enthusiastic as they come and he is out on the training pitch every day wanting to improve. He is expected to continue his develop during 2013-14 and learn off of Derby's other senior goalkeepers, as well as featuring for Derby's Under-21 side to gain valuable match experience. Morch is yet to make his Rams debut after signing professional forms last season, but he has gained match experience in Derby's Under 21 side during the last year and spent some time on loan at Burton Albion earlier in the campaign. Rich3478
Is it me or is this a ridiculously low level? From burton and know a few lads who've played for gresley, played Sundays with a few as well. Its a huge gulf on class even to burton Albion, let alone the championship. Pretty sure none of these lads will be professional footballers in the future.

GeneralRam
I've got 2 Gresley season tickets, I should pop down. But I probably won't.
Emjlc02
I think for a very young keeper this is good experience, that level is very direct and lots of balls in the box agaisnt big strong lads. With Lego back who will most likely play for the reserves its a chance at some games.

At Gresley, he will probably play week in, week out, which is better than sitting on the bench at a club like Burton. Experience is important regardless of level. Pretty sure none of these lads will be professional footballers in the future. Nigel Clough and Nigel Pearson played at Heanor Town at around the same age as Morch here. Both of them were pretty handy in the end. In regard to Morch, I don't think he's going to make it here but he's a good young keeper, he'll probably drop to the conference and try to make his way from there. He's good enough to manage it, should he keep developing.

Thanks for disrespecting my "other club" so much Not only are Gresley a decent footballing side (if you have RamsPlayer you can see them (and Morch) narrowly losing to Conference National side Wrexham here:http://www.player.wrexhamafc.co.uk/latest-news/article/3558531/date/20131201232400/page/0/name/Match-Highlights:-Gresley-(h)), but we also have two ex-players currently playing professionally in League Two. Just that a few close friends have played for them, I've played against a few who've played for gresley. They were ok but didn't shine massively in Sunday league, I'm under no illusions about how good I am either. Sort of always presumed professionals to be streets ahead of this sort of standard

I've got a couple of mates who have played for Gresley and have worked their way up, but it seems weird to have a youngster of ours who's held in supposedly high regard playing that far down. Sort of always presumed professionals to be streets ahead of this sort of standard Last season we played against one of the then-current Gresley players (on the fringe of the first team). He scored 7 (seven). I'd split the attribution of that equally between the quality he had and we lacked.
