Derby midfielder Jeff Hendrick has been forced to pull out of the Republic of Ireland squad for the vital World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria.

Hendrick sustained an ankle injury in Derby's win over Yeovil on Saturday.
A scan has not diagnosed the full extent of Hendrick's injury and he plans to see a specialist on Friday.

Sounds serious, and obviously means he's out of Saturdays game.

Although it's obviously a blow it does mean there is one less centre midfielder to crowbar into the starting eleven

Its been a bad week for him. He was robbed on Monday night too according to a journalist here in Ireland.

Real shame for Jeff, played really well these past couple of games. Will be interesting to see if Clough changes the shape on Saturday now, maybe Wardy on the left and Coutts on the right, Hughes and Bryson in the middle?

Eustace or Coutts. I'm going Eustace.

Or maybe Ward-Bryson-Eustace-Hughes-Coutts

Although I doubt he would drop Russell. May rest Ward if he is playing internationals though.

Got a feeling we'll miss him against Burnley, he's our drive.

Bryson found his form yesterday so may not miss him as much

With no Hendrick

I would play the 4312 again as its starting to get consistent attacking results.

Martin Russell

Ward

Hughes Coutts Bryson

Feel we need the option of a bit of width at home to break sides content to sit and pack the middle. I'd play coutts as he gives an option wide right if we need to play 4-4-2

Hope he's not rushed back however trivial the inury is. Our squad can cope now with injuries (to a certain extent, cb notwithstanding!).

Jeff will be pivotal to our season but needs to be fully fit.
