Wilfred Zaha

I did say appearance fee's would raise it to arond that, he has the potential to go for that much if United become involved, Sordell went for £3.5m to Bolton.

I also meant common knowledge as in how good he is, not how much he'd go for.

I'm not saying the valuation is common knowledge that was my opinion, look at the opening post and first reply and you will see its not common knowledge

Within the football industry it is. Some fans think Carrick is crap and that Tito was great. Common knowledge within fooballing circles is that he's a huge talent, hence why City, United, Tottenham (I think) and Chelsea have all had scouts watching him.

So i'm right, really.

Sorry I'm not in these footballing circles like you, I'm just a fan

I didn't say I was in them, I said that within them he's seen as one of the brightest sparks England have got at this level (and age range).

Every other manager who comes up against him praises him, PL clubs regularly have scouts watching him, Ferguson himself openly commented on how good he is himself when United faced him last year.

You don't need to make jokes and comments to try and make me look a **** Daveo, I do that well enough on my own without your input.

Palace being my second team, I would be very upset to see him go as he's a great talent, and in some games can be the the source of most things good about Palace. But, obviously with Holloway coming in, he will want to bring in some of his players (purely for example, DJ Campbell) and the money being offered would easily provide that. I think around 10 million (Arsenal will overpay) could potentially buy a promotion challenging team. An injection of quality to the Palace team could really push them to the PL. You already have some higher Championship quality there with players like Murray, Jedinak, Digakcoi, Speroni, Parr and Bolasie. The defence needs strengthening (they need a Barker type CB and a RB which could step up and replace Clyne) but selling Zaha could be more of a forward step than a step backwards.

Although they do have Dean Moxey 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'm not making any jokes, the common knowledge thing is crossed wires, I have no idea who's been scouting him etc.

£8m is in Jordan Rhodes budget, scored all those goals yet no Prem clubs touched him, probably because of the ridiculous price tag.

Has Zaha done anything to make him worthy of that kind of price tag? I'd say no although that is based on what I get to see on the FL Show.

9 goals in 36 games for the Ox, 11 in 96 for Zaha. If I was paying £10m for a winger I'd like a few goals included for that kind of money, could do with a few for the U21's as well otherwise take the £3m or leave it.

Victor Moses went to Chelsea for £10m, similar age isn't he?

I can't see Wenger spending that kind of money on a kid, Arsenal fans are not a happy bunch at the moment, they want established players that can win trophies now not another expensive kid that needs breast feeding.

They will probably sign him for £20m in January now.

Have you not noticed how idiotic Arsenal are? prices for young, exciting players always lack perspective or context. I myself am not saying I think he's worth 1 0 m i l l i o n, but believe he will go at a stupid price such as 1 0 m i l l i o n.

He was 5 star skills on Fifa ffs.

Theo Walcott has done OK since he joined and if Arsenal were to sell they would heavily profit.

Alex Chamberlain came with a price tag and again, if they were to sell then he would likely fetch 30M plus.

Is that idiotic?

Do none of you realise that his price tag is including his potential. Not a great deal to do with his current ability.

"I've watched him and he's not that good".......Nonsense.

They would be paying for his potential.

Walcott they'd be lucky to get £30 unless he signs a new contract 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons//laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Victor Moses similar age went for £10m, like you say that would of been based on potential as he didn't exactly look a £10m player at Wigan, but he's done a lot more than Zaha has to make you think he could be a top player.

Palace have slapped on a ridiculous price tag based on potential, £20m they want isn't it? No chance. Even with potential your looking at £3-5m imo anyhow.

Spurs (who have been linked) fans find the valuation way ott having been robbed on a future star from Palace before (Bostock)

http://www.spurscommunity.co.uk/index.php?threads/crystal-palace-co-chairman-has-placed-a-£20m-price-on-wilfried-zaha.91346/

And you've got Gus Poyet who thinks Will Buckley is better

http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/10025749.Poyet__Buckley_is_not_for_sale/

Finally Palace fans reckon even £20m he'd stay

http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=126313

Expected from Palace fans on the Internet tho, I mean if people looked on here and saw B4's prediction of us winning the league and Will Hughes valuation they'd think we're nuts.

No doubt he's a good player but my heart sinks when this sort of player is billed as one of our brightest prospects and becomes really sort after.

Pacey winger, decent dribbler, got a good shot on him, good amounts of strength. Well that's good. Join the queue with Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott and Aaron Lennon.

Wingers don't win you major tournaments, central players who create stuff, score stuff or save stuff do. Will Hughes genuinely excites me more as an England prospect than Zaha. Even if Zaha is the real deal and fulfills his potential, it's just going to be more of the same.

In fairness if we were promoted and we had a choice of Buckley or Zaha for the same price, same money...etc I would go buckley every time, a much more complete footballer.

18 - Oxlade Chamberlain £12m could rise to £15m

21 - Victor Moses £10m

23 - Scott Sinclair £8m

19 - Daniel Sturridge £5.5m (Tribunal)

First number is age when they joined. I'm still struggling to see how Palace and their fans can value Zaha at over £20m.

How much would Raheem Sterling be worth?

It's questionable to how effective Zaha would be in the premier league - I wouldn't spend anything like the money they want for him. I think Arsenal like raw players, like zaha so could be a possibility but Wenger would be a mug for spending 20million on a player like zaha. 20million the cost of RVP wasn't it?

Can't really compare it to the RVP transfer fee as you pay a premium for young English players.

Liverpool have screwed the valuations of players, look at Henderson at £16m. Zaha isn't a player I would of thought they'd be interested in right now otherwise Palace would probably would of got £20m for him.

Arsenal, can't see it either unless Walcott goes in the summer but even then would they pay more than what they paid for Ox? doubt it.

Spurs, again can't see it, AVB will go abroad where you get value for money.
