  1. Please send me the address of Cloud Cuckoo Land , as this is obviously where you live. I will try to avoid visiting.
  2. You have the power to ban some of the doom-mongers before they rear their ugly heads again! Only joking……
  3. “Statistically Fornah was similar to Smith” - how? Where has the Smith comparison come from? I recollect when we signed Fornah he stated that he liked tackling and then driving forward with the ball. He obviously isn’t quite ready yet for the role we are asking him to play BUT given time….. There are far too many people write players off too early before they are given chance to settle in and learn what is required.
  4. Can you provide any evidence at all for your comments regarding the research undertaken or his abilities? I doubt it and if not, it will be another of your posts which will go in the trash can.
  5. Just to add a bit of balance to those who think the world has ended with our recent results - only 2 teams in the top 7 have more points than us over the last 5 games - Bolton 12, Peterborough 11 against our 10 points. Getting Nyambe back and a few others from injury, plus hopefully someone in the window will make a huge difference.
  6. You were very nearly playing in the Derby Combination League (if there is one!)
  7. So, just to understand you correctly, are you saying that Derby's players don't know what they're doing? You don't think that the game, the opposition, the tactics needed are discussed beforehand? Curtis knows all the theory, as most of us think we do, but his team are in the bottom 4, we are in the top 4. But I suppose that is down to us having the highest wage budget in the division and the superior squad?
  8. Not sure what you are trying to say here. There is no criticism of Derby in his remarks, quite the opposite . What he is saying is players have a responsibility that find space to receive passes and know the game plan. These are general comments.
  9. So all the boos at half time were aimed at Warne, not the players? All the cheers when Hourihane was substituted were aimed at Warne , not directed to the player.
  10. Good post. Cheltenham only lost 1-0 last week at Bolton (and were the better side) who are currently flying. Peterborough the league’s top scorers couldn’t score against Lincoln (like us). All the top teams are having wobbles - we just need to pull together. Nyambe back hopefully for next weekend, will be a blessing and hopefully a few injuries clearing up. Hopefully the last few days of the transfer window will go well. Now is not the time for fans to panic and boo the team and certain players. As Collins said, it only helps the opposition further. For goodness sake show you are Derby fans at this critical time. Always remember, a season and a half ago, it didn’t look as though you would have a team to support! So please do so now.
  11. Unfortunately, that’s the reality of where we are currently. People need to get a sense of proportion and get behind what we have currently. We have a chance of getting promoted and things improving financially but at this critical stage we need to show support, not be so highly critical towards the players, owner and staff.
  12. So do you think the players we currently have now are as good as we had during the years you mentioned. The answer is emphatically NO. So why do you expect them to play like them. The fact is we no longer have money to throw around, have a shoestring budget currently and cannot afford the type of players you want. This is a time for patience, understanding and support for the Club/team - not beating everyone up because we are not as good as we were in the hay days. We were nearly “no longer” - people need to get realistic!.
  13. I think that you are misunderstanding what I mean by aggression. I don’t want home tongs around kicking people. I think Declan Rice is aggressive and wins the ball but he is also very cultured. You may be right that Max wins 50% of his aerial duals but I can guarantee that the majority of duals he wins don’t go to a Derby player.
  14. No wonder we struggled, looks as though we only have 10 men on the pitch. Is this diagram for the whole match? It doesn't make much sense!
  15. Sorry but I don't agree with you. I think Bird reads the game very well but isn't strong enough in the tackle, is poor in the air and just isn't aggressive enough. Thompson runs around a lot, gives lots of energy but rarely achieves anything concrete. Hourihane can tackle but is usually off the pace , hence he is often late bringing a yellow card. Paul Warne constantly talks about having control of the game in his post match interviews, so I don't think you are right when you say "he puts no emphasis on control". Whether we get control is another matter. Other teams must has sussed by now that we are weak in midfield but I do not think there is much we can do about it at present with the players we have. Cant wait for Nyambye to return so we are more watertight at the back and we can get more on the front foot with Wilson further forward. Hopefully we can pull a last minute rabbit out of the hat with a goal scoring forward.
  16. How does he change his style? We just do not currently have the players to have a combatative midfield, as Fornah apart (and he appears to have lost confidence) none of our players could force their way out of a paper bag - Bird , Hourihane, Thompson, Smith Barkhaizen, Mendez-Llangollen, Sibley etc are all weak in the tackle and in the air. So unless we play 4/5 in midfield and try to crowd the opposition with sheer numbers (as many teams try to do to us) we are never going to dominate the opposition. I think we currently rely on trying to score more goals than the opposition, this has worked quite well so far, but with Nyambe out and Forsyth injured, with Cashin also having a couple of ropey games, we don’t look as secure. Goals have also dried up. I don’t think we can afford to get anyone in yet, so I think we need to hold our nerve and hope it works out. The players more than ever need our support, not to get on their backs. I
  17. Comments on Radio Derby are that conditions with the wind are difficult, which isn’t that evident on Ramstv. Regardless of that we have been very poor. Our control of the football and passing has been dreadful. Maybe our wide men may get more chance playing into the wind with the ball over the top - we shall see but things need to improve certainly. Presently will settle for a very ugly 1-0 win. I fear if we go behind.
  18. My uneducated guesswork about this deal is as follows: Apart from the Club & EFL , no one knows the details of our agreed Business Plan with them. There may be a limit on new signings, or how much we can spend on loan fees, or a limit on our wages spend. What we do know, I believe, is there is a rule in League One that only a certain % of turnover can be spent on wages. Possibly, we are very near this limit and hence we are paying Charlton a loan fee and they are continuing to pay all/some of his wages. This may/may-not, leave sufficient in the various pots (wages/fees/loans) to facilitate us doing a further deal/s. Hopefully we have enough leeway to be able to secure at least another striker. Purely my own speculation, which admittedly might be total rubbish!
  19. As I attended my first match in 1963 (and not senile yet!) I think I might have a bit more grey hair than you, maybe not. Storey-Moore was a typical Brian Clough attempt to crash in on a transfer. Forest were never going to let him come to Derby. Your comment was "What if he changes his mind when his contract runs out with Charlton?" - raising doubts that he may not sign. No one, apart from the Club know what he has or hasn't signed, nor what fee/loan fee has been paid.
  20. Quite the opposite, I can see through your veneer, I just feel sorry for those who can’t and believe your trivia
  21. Is this the only reason you enjoy life, to try and upset people or wind them up.
  22. Derby fans are a fickle lot but they do appreciate, generally, when a player emerges from the Academy and give them far more leeway. Cashin, Player of the Month in League One, gave a horror show in the first half on Saturday ( also did some good things). If Bradley, Elder, Ward, Smith, Forsyth, Hourahane, etc etc had played like him they would have been slated by the posters on here. I’m glad Cashin wasn’t slated, as we all love him, but just think about calling out some of the other players and just give them full support. Well done to Vickers and particularly Elder who both had very good games on Saturday, after criticism last Monday. Shows they have a bit of character.
