  1. Seeing as the neo-fascist home secretary wants the protests banned and has regaled the police over refusing to ban them, I've half a mind to get my placard paint out.
  2. Also, he asked for Dijon mustard on his hot dog and wore a tan suit. The man just wasn't fit to be president. Not a long red tie in sight.
  3. Totally justifiable war. I'm sure those WMD will turn up any day now...
  4. Well, Bris's main contribution was something along the lines of "Worst opponents in 30 years".
  5. It looks as though, in other groups, as many as half a dozen U-21 sides are still in with a chance of qualifying - or have already done so. Unfortunately, that's where we are.
  6. Wherefore art thou Romero?
  7. Watching the 'Championship of Europe' at the moment. Netherlands looking pretty good.
  8. Just so long as they don't come to my house and try to engage me with their indoctrination mantra.
  9. It's probably more aimed towards the FWL* *Facebook window-lickers
  10. Every major war ever has had religion at the heart - or the periphery - of it. What you are saying, though, is the only justification for religion. "I don't want to die. I'm scared of ceasing to exist. I know - let's pretend there is a hereafter"
  11. Why do people continue to believe in a god or creator? It's insanity.
  12. Occasionally (but not often), I'm almost lost for words. Afghanistan made 291-5, and Australia, when Pat Cummins came to the wicket, were down and almost out at 91-7. Glenn Maxwell started shakily, surviving an LBW review and an absolute dolly of a dropped catch when he suddenly went berzerk. He and Cummins knocked the runs off with 3 overs to spare. Cummins made 12*, whereas Maxwell went to his double century (201*), hitting 21 fours and 10 sixes. He dealt almost exclusively in boundaries in the latter half of his innings, because he was either suffering from cramp or a pulled muscle and could barely walk, let alone run.
  13. The first volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland for 800 years started a few hours ago. This will be a 'pretty' eruption - no nasty glaciers to cause a phreatic explosion. What is known as a 'tourism eruption' - only problem is, there are no tourists. If only it had waited a year - we were planning an Icelandic cruise for 2022. The only down-side at the moment is that the prevailing winds are blowing the gases straight to Reykjavik. Look after yourself, @ramit Live streaming webcam
