Agreed..to be thinking of a promise he made to a young fan under the circumstances of scoring your first World Cup goal shows the class of the man.  That young lad will remember what Grealish did for the rest of his life

We dodged a major bullet, as it now seems he might have been trying to buy us with very dodgy funds...

The reality of DCFC's situation is that it's going to take years to recover from this, and we need someone who will get us to a financially stable position.  Unfortunately the only one of the poll choices that I could see sticking around for that long is Mike Ashley.  I'd rather take his as owner and be financially sorted and stable in a decade, rather than DCFC disappearing by this time next year.  

If there was a genuine consortium that was headed by a billionaire with deep pockets and long arms, then obviously I'd take them over Mike Ashley (does anyone have a phone number for Elon Musk??), but in their absence, Mike Ashley has 14 years of experience with Newcastle behind him and £300 million in his pocket.

If we do stay up it'll be by the skin of our teeth.  I'm half-expecting that next season we'll be visiting my wife's team in League One, but there's a little bit of me that's still hopeful we can stay up.  But no matter what happens, there need to be some major changes at Pride Park.  The squad needs refreshing in a big way, because this season there have been too many occasions where the passion and pride in the shirt have been severely lacking.  Rooney is in over his head as a manager at this level and needs to go, and we need certainty and stability with regards to the off-pitch financial dealings.  If we also get a points deduction, then I'd expect at least two full seasons stuck in League One before we come back up (one suffering from the deduction and then hopefully spring back up at the end of season 2).
