  1. Makes u wonder if the PW mentality for this game is not to lose (to the mighty Stevenage at home, mind)…. This is the formation u could see for the Pompey away game when we would happily settle for a draw from the beginning.. Remember- Stevenage have a good record in terms of scoring late goals…
  2. Respectfully disagree. The idea is to win. It’s been toothless, stale and useless. Be brave- shake things up…. Don’t wait until the last moment out of desperation…
  3. To deflect the rotten eggs likely to be thrown at him at the end of the game ???
  4. Agree. It’s pathetic. Bird can’t be playmaker when fighting for the ball in a midfield two. Too much respect given.
  5. How can PW make no changes !? It hasn’t worked and nothing is going to miraculously change anything for us….. no shots, no creativity…. Just wait until they score I guess or if it’s still 0-0 with 15 to play then a raft of changes that totally flummox the players and us….
  6. I’m neutral when it comes to PW, but times like this really make me question whether he has any real tactical nous.
  7. It would be funny if it wasn’t true. All the excitement and momentum from Tuesday lost by playing a stupid and new formation in my view.
  8. When did we actually play well at home ?? This isn’t working.
  9. Would love to be made to eat humble pie later…. By why oh why does PW see how well we function with a midfield three including a great Adams, only to ditch the system in such an important game ?? Ok, Thommo isn’t CH but…… 🤷🤷
  10. We are too light in midfield. It’s where a game is won or lost.
  11. In reality this looks more like 5-2-3 to me ! Almost a 5-1-1-3 !😳
  12. Stevenage strong in midfield. With just two in there we will get overrun…. Time will tell but I think PW has this wrong…. No point having three up front if our midfield can’t link up with them. Plus this setup leaves Bird sitting back again…
  13. Gonna be a very tough game today and I have a bad feeling… fourth best away record in the division and a tough team to break down…add to that out somewhat dodgy home record and performances…😳🤷…...if they score first it will be tricky. They- like us- also have a good record of getting late goals in games. Big responsibility lies with the crowd…. Got to be loud and patient and get the guys over the line… COYR 🐏🐏🐏
  14. Did anyone else notice the intense briefing CH was giving the players when they were in the huddle after the first goal ? Looked like quite a lecture … wonder what was being said ?? The celebrations seemed to die down a bit so I wonder if it was perhaps along the lines of ‘well done, but we’ve not done the job yet, keep your concentration…etc’. Pure conjecture of course but was interesting to watch…
  15. Horrible manager is Evans- and not only are his comments mind games but also really an indication that they want and intend to play physical (dirty). Having said that, I do expect Stevenage to come at us looking for a win (with one eye on our dodgy home form). I honestly believe we would do better if we played like when away and use the counter attack game…
  16. True… but clear inference seemed it was 10 to the end the season to ‘get us to where want to be’. So that’s maybe 2 losses and the balance draws ??
  17. When u look at the obviously biased refs against us in the last half dozen games u really have to laugh at this.
  18. The one great quality he has when defending is his pace, which allows him often to get back onto an opposition player even if he’s skinned on the half- way line.
  19. Maybe we should set up and play at home like we do when we go away !? I know large sections of the crowd would moan and whine if we play on the counter but you play to your strengths in order to win games. I remember the great Dynamo Kiev side with Shevchenko and they played on the counter in every game and it took them to the Champions League semi final. Why ? Cos that system played to their strengths.
  20. 😂😂😂😂 U have some nuclear waste handy ?? 😎
  21. Good shot. But GK should have saved it to be honest.
  22. Great win and nice to be able to relax a bit at the end 👍😎 The talk of Cash coming off for cramp is also great news- but u have to be careful playing again so soon afterwards with cramp as it can easily lead to a hamstring pull or tear. But still good news. Shout out to Collo- a real trooper. CBT useless and worrying if indeed it’s down to a tight hamstring. We can’t afford passengers and just so much more annoying with him being our supposed marquee signing… Adams immense again but three bookings in three games is worrying. We all know that they tend to come with his style of play but he’s gonna have to balance things a bit otherwise he’s gonna quickly get suspended and we really can’t afford that. Overall a great night. And a big shout for the fans - well done guys 👏👏🐏🐏🐏
  23. Yeah- good way to describe it 👍👏 Just wish Pompey and Bolton would stop winning… a close third placed finish will be a heartbreaker… Gotta 100% beat Bolton at home and not lose to Pompey away…
  24. Worried about Cash though- injured this week and doubtful for the game but played and taken off before the end when he normally always plays until the end…🙏🤞
  25. Sounds like two players we could do with trying to sign…😎
