We have 6 players who's contract won't run out this summer.

    Jason Knight

    Jack Stretton

    Krystian Bielik

    Kamil Jozwiak

    Max Bird

    Louie Sibley

The admins have taken far too long, I understand the issues but they must have outlined and understood these on day 2, if they're worth their salt.

Feels like we are being asset stripped at the moment. The club valuation drops significantly without any players...

  2. Not too sure where to post this, but do we have details on contract end dates? I know a number are due to expire in the summer but curious to know who.

In relation to Plange, I agree with many posters on here, £1m (to us) for effectively a season long loan is very good for this club in the current situation. The big PP turnouts, some players out and the added income from this 'sale and lease back' coupled with a competent Administrator should see us roll until a buyer can be finalised.

  3. It will be a sad day when Jason leaves Derby. However, it is the most logical sale for us. He is our only genuinely 'proven' youth player and by that I mean 9 caps for Ireland etc. The only way we will get a decent sale price for anyone is demand (plus contracted beyond the summer). I believe the reports that a few teams are interested, this will create a market price rather than a opportunistic vulture price. Whoever is willing to pay cash will get him.

I think the £8m price would be accurate with sell on and bonus clauses. That will be of no interest to the admins so expect a smaller fee, cash in hand please.

In this way, he could still save this club!

  4. Whilst I often disagree with some comments on here, the general view is normally shared. This is completely different for me. I am on the side of Keogh more than the club.

He is a young (in all real world comparisons) footballer who has grown up in the football vacuum. You only need look at Rooney to see the poor decisions people in the vacuum can make. I believe the Club have a huge responsibility to nurture and shield these players. I look at this situation and I can only blame the club. It was a team event, these players are worth a lot of money the Club should have looked after them better, it's that simple.

I employ a small team, if I organised a pi$$ up and some had driven I would be certain to make sure nobody drove home! Whilst they are valuable to be they are not multimillion pound footballers.

I personally think sacking Keogh was disgraceful, whatever you feel about his ability as a footballer that's irrelevant. Imagine this was your workplace, switch the names and see how you would feel. He deserves his payout. For Lawrence to be retained and now be captain must make Keogh feel sick.

Just to be clear, I am a Derby fan, love the club, but feel strongly that the Club was disgraceful in this case.

  5. Like many of us, I have not been particularly looking forward to this season. We certainly enter 2021/22 with relegation in our mind rather than our promotion focus of the past decade or so.

However, in the end each team is just 11 players on the park, we have a couple of decent goalies so need 10 outfield players. I am fairly certain Byrne, Buchanan, Shinnie, Lawrence, Bird and Jozwiak could play the full season. So in my mind we are looking at four core first team players needed. Jagielka, Forsyth, Wisdom and Davies between them should conceivably cover the two CB positions for us. The remaining two need to be goal scorers / creative players. We can work Kazim-Richards for another season but as much as I love him, the lack of pace limits us. He needs a good alternative and/or partner for the season. I personally think Morrison looked good for our additional mid/winger, like Hughes of old, someone who just wanted the ball and could be a spark.

I was at the game yesterday and liked the style we are building for, limited time wasted at the back, moving the ball quicker, looking for ideas. Feel much more positive.

Remember, we have had some fantastic 'late career' players over our best seasons. In the championship a consistent, stable first 11 can really make a season until the Christmas break, when some new arrivals will always help. We will have Bielik and Knight coming back in to this team.

Our stars this year will be: Lawrence, Watson and Morrison (if he signs).
