I remember how well Johnny Stead done for us when he joined us and scored some vital goals and not much was expected of him to be fair ….the difference is and no disrespect to any of our other strikers but Gayle is the best striker we have ….played and scored at a high level and a player I have always think will pop up with a goal when you least expect it because he’s a poacher very happy with this and some teams in L1 will now have to watch him closely when they play us which might free up space for others

I like this a lot even if Collo hadn’t got injured I would have been pleased with this signing A goalscorer and more importantly a different type of striker …I really wanted us to sign him when he left Newcastle as I’ve always thought he’s a threat well done DCFC getting this done 👍🏻

Lets hope we can get this over the line...If it is blocked by the EFL it would not surprise me and would say a lot ! I think Gayle will be a hit here and will score vital goals

I wonder if we ever was interested in Azeez at Reading because I think he's one of the most effective players in L1 CBT seems to be struggling so far so fingers crossed he turns out a good signing as we need players firing for us from now until the end of season Saw Azeez tear Charlton a new one and was hoping we'd have a cheeky bid on him as Reading are in the poo financially and thought he was really good against us too...

Look how far away Adams is when the killer pass is played ...he makes up the space in a flash and throws his body in front of the player and ball....what a signing ....really hope we sign him permanently and makes a massive difference to our team

This un-fortunately is exactly what I heard too from Charlton fans, needs to improve in a few areas but I'm more concerned with his actual effort, the minimum I expect from any player is 100 per cent effort and I don't think we are seeing that I always think fans accept below par performances but not a lack of effort

Really good performance so far...great goal from Bird and Ebou is a fantastic signing makes a big difference to our midfield

Love this post this is exactly how I see it …the amount of opposing fans that I’ve heard say we are bang average is quite high …I just want to see us out football some sides and stop sinking to L1 levels just because a more direct approach maybe the way a lot of clubs get out of L1 it doesn’t mean we have to do the same …I find Warnes football quite archaic and hard to watch …someone posted a fantastic post last week summing it up …we hang on to 1-0 and play a real last stand type of football where players like at Charlton for example throw themselves in front of everything…its admiral it’s ok but I what to see us put a foot on the ball control the game and let the opposition chase shadows and we look to score again … The football is not great and I find Warnes style old fashioned and not forward thinking …we may well go up if we are lucky but it won’t be top 2 but I think we’ll finish 3rd and I don’t back us to win the play offs because we are no better than any of the other top 6 for me I think we may well have regrets this season because I don’t think this division is very strong and this season was the season to take advantage of that but we do not stand out as any better than anyone else in the top 6 next season maybe more difficult in L1 and if it’s Warne leading the club into that challenge what makes anyone think we’ll be any better than the other contenders ?

Totally agree , I would much prefer to see us playing a different style and a more ( we will score more than you attitude ) too many times seemingly holding on rather than taking the game away from opponents ,regardless of what happens this season this season I won't be doing the miles i do next season if we are still in L1 and if Warne ( who I like as a person ) is still in charge as I don't like how we play When I start my journey to games from Kent I always start off with enthusiasm and optimism ....that soon starts to diminish as soon as the game starts lol
