  1. It’s probably both isn’t it. And in my opinion he gets the set-up wrong from the get go quite a lot. As @oodledoodlesays though, setting up without a No.9 was always going to be difficult. We had a few injuries. But he also bizarrely dropped Bird back deeper after he’d been playing so well further forward? Why? I feel I’m in this bizarre place with this football club at the moment. We’re picking up loads of points and we’re second and statistically we’re doing really well - and yet it is so so hard to watch at times. I hope he gets us promoted and then gets a summer to bring in some better players and we improve. Otherwise…
  2. Deserves massive credit yesterday for changing it up, making clever substitutions and finding a way through Stevenage to get the three points. I just wish we didn’t start off playing such turgid stuff at times. Can’t help but feel that we will not get away with that in the Championship.
  3. That’s just your opinion
  4. Pretty sure it nearly happened before Uncle 'Arry gave Mel a ring and we ended up with Lampard!
  5. Desperate to know who the Championship forward was that was on his way to us and then wasn't at the 11th hour. Obviously wasn't Ennis as Warne says the Champ manager decided to keep him in the end. I don't think it was Gregory/Smith either because those deals tanked quite early and this sounded like it was all going well until very late. Looking at the list of Championship clubs, one does't come to mind. Who could it be? My wild guess would be Kayden Jackson at Ipswich. Or perhaps a Scott Hogan at Birmingham? Hmm.
  6. You're absolutely right. It's also exactly why we're in this mess!
  7. Feel for Paul Warne tonight. He has been totally let down by the club here. Not a chance he would have wanted to end the window like this. Awful stuff.
  8. Have Leigh and Dom just gone to bed?
  9. Yes I agree - the silence is very strange But I’m deciding to take that in a way that suggests something is happening. We do normally get an indication that nothing is happening when the journos know. I’m guessing they haven’t been told anything yet because the club are STILL trying… Said multiple times in the past that this window will determine whether we go up or not. Look how Portsmouth and Bolton have strengthened. This could cost us automatics. also found the strange vague post from @MACKWORTHRAMearlier a bit concerning…
  10. In fairness, all he’s saying is that he doesn’t know
  11. Ok well maybe, on transfer deadline day of all days, put that in your post? 😂
  12. I'll gladly come back and apologise when this all goes through, but you are about to out yourself as the false prophet I've suspected you are...
  13. The return of Avon Tyres? 🤞🤞🤞
  14. Quite surprised to hear that we were apparently in for the famously very injury prone Niall Ennis. Can’t say Blackburn fans seem too disappointed to see the back of him.
  15. Honestly cannot be arsed to get into this debate with anyone today but if that’s what you think the Derby Way was or that what Max Bird’s game is then you probably watch a different version of football to me
  16. Last player who came through the academy during a 4-5 year period where they were taught to play a certain “way” Sibley and Cash obviously included but Sibley hasn’t had the same impact and Cash came into the first team at a later stage.
  17. Don’t want to be dramatic but it feels like the last product of the “Derby Way” finally heading out the door.
  18. I feel like the club aren't daft enough to have put all their eggs in the Sheffield Wednesday basket, right? Right? ....right?
  19. Pretty certain we are not one of the clubs who are in for him, but this guy would be a good signing for the future. He’s going to be a Championship defender (at least) in the coming seasons:
  20. Fair enough - by that metric he is certainly more than "ok" But I think I can assume that the majority on this forum would swap him for a Cole/Bishop/May/Ladapo/JCH if given the option. I like him a lot. Love his run rate. Love his effort. He bullies defenders which is great to see. I just don't think we should hang our hat on him.
