Ultimately I’m happy that it might be coming to an end, but would be disappointed if Mel’s just rolled over and let Gibbo tickle his tummy. I would’ve loved to see how this played out in court.

If nothing else, this should finally prove what was holding up the announcement of a PB. Was it the Boro claim, or have the Admins, as Gibson insists, been dragging their feet? If we don't see movement in the next week or so, I think the pressure on the Admins will really ramp up

lets get one thing straight here ...the EFL is not allowing us to be taken over due to pending claims from two parasite clubs both of which should not be happening whilst we are in admin
the EFL are allowing this to happen and could solve all of this tomorrow by saying that they have dealt with DCFC and given us points deductions and transfer embargoes.
But all the time they let the tail wag the dog with claims from parasite teams effectively stopping anyone buying the club we are going nowhere...Instead of trying to get 4 parties to agree Us,EFL, ParasiteFC1 and ParasiteFC2 which will be difficult just have some balls EFL and tell them we have been dealt with and acted on there advice and got paperwork in to the EFL's deadlines
Stop fannying around with our future...grow some balls and do what you're supposed to do and take governence of this situation then tell them that the EFL will deal directly with any misdemeanours and the buck stops with them....

This is what it will take so grow a pair EFL and you might actually go up in some people's estimations !!

Isn't a compromise/pay-off what Boro/Wycombe wanted all along? They both knew full well that their claims wouldn't stand up to scrutiny, but tyhey knew that us being in Admin would paint us in to a corner and be forced to pay them off to drop the claims

Nothing on Twitter from him since 18th Sept. Searching for him on The Athletic app doesn't bring anything up either. His articles are still there, but when you click on his name in the header, nothing happens (unlike other authors whose name links off to their profile).
Hope he's OK. I know he's had his struggles.

A few thoughts from a fitful night's sleep:
Mel wanted to push FFP/P&S to the limit. He also spent significantly on items that were FFP exempt, like the academy and the infrastructure. It seemed that he wanted to use his vast wealth to drive the club into the Premier League.
That was fair enough; it was his money and his train set. Now he's walking away from the club he loves and putting its very existence in jeopardy, because he's having to put £1.5 million per month in? That is a very large u-turn. Why?

Assuming the MSD thing comes to nothing and we go into administration, we get a 12 point penalty. I believe that's fair enough. It stops clubs from using it as a relatively easy way to walk away from debts, as has happened in the past.
What I'm struggling to see the point of is a two year transfer embargo. You can't argue against an embargo whilst in administration; a club without the cash to pay its way can't be allowed to increase its costs. However, the key for the club to survive is that a buyer is found quickly. An ongoing embargo is going to make selling the club as a going concern far more difficult. Surely the embargo should be lifted as soon as the football and hmrc debts are paid and the CVA is in place? It seems to me that this EFL rule is one which could easily drive a founder member to extinction.

Finally, what we need now is a buyer. As fans, we need buyers to see our potential. Everyone knows that Rooney and the players are blameless here and deserve our support. I suspect that today's atmosphere will be excellent.
What I think would help secure the future of Derby County would be big home gates over the next couple of months. The administrators will need cash to pay the bills, otherwise the doors slam shut. But if we can pack the stadium,  it will also send a message that we are a club worth buying. So please, everyone who can, get yourselves to the next few games.

I was really annoyed last night when the news broke. I was close to posting something about Mel that would have restulted in a warning.
However this morning I'm more calmer. I'm getting too old, I've lost interest in football over the last couple of years and starting to emotionally detach myself. I'm losing the love for the game in general.
The Premier League is ruining football with the money. Grass roots kids football is political with coaches & parents thinking its the champions league final when they don't even keep scores at that age. Then the farce that is Mel Morris' time in charge.
I feel sorry for the people who rely on the club for a living. I feel sorry for all the die hards who its more than a club. I feel sorry for all the kids that support us who won't have witnessed any good times & who's interest in football might be lost.
Football really isnt that fun anymore
