As if you’ve gone to all that time and effort to try and make a point, purely because you read what I said completely wrong.
Not at all. The reason I put up all those Transfermarkt Player Stats links was to show that the Players I mentioned not only performed at a higher level than Chris Martin, but also matched or bettered his Derby County record. Here's a Goals per minute breakdown of their respective Playing Time for Derby (I've chucked in a few others who came to mind) :-
Player Mins Played Goals Mins per Goal
====== =========== ===== =============
Darren Bent 4,340 28 155
Cameron Jerome 940 6 157
Patrick Bamford 1,261 8 158
Matej Vydra 4,789 27 177
Branko Strupar 2,878 16 180
Paul Peschisolido 4,757 25 190
Grzegorz Rasiak 3,919 19 206
Chris Martin 16,455 76 216
Paulo Wanchope 6,152 25 246
David Nugent 4,920 17 284 -

he is the best striker we have had at the club in the last 20 years, maybe even 30
Chris Martin has done nothing above Tier 2 in the League - 5 Premier League appearances
yielded no goals and no assists :-https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-martin/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/46154
To be fair, he did score 3 goals at International level for Scotland, but then so did
ex-Ram Ikechi Anya, so perhaps not too much to brag about. If we go back just 5 years, we've had Darren Bent, David Nugent and Matej Vydra on the Books.
They've all had decent careers at Premier League Level :-https://www.transfermarkt.com/darren-bent/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/13239
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-nugent/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/33963
https://www.transfermarkt.com/matej-vydra/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/101500
Just to pick some salient data from those Transfermarkt Stats :-
Chris Martin - 456 Championship appearances have yielded 114 Goals.
Darren Bent - 277 Premier League appearances yielded 106 Goals.
Do you really believe Chris Martin is/was a better Striker than Darren Bent?
Stretch back 10 Years, and you bring Patrick Bamford into play :-
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patrick-bamford/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/183334
OK he was only on Loan, but he did get us 8 Goals and 4 assists from 23 Games, and he wasn't
playing as an out and out striker. Like Bent/Nuge/Vyds, Bamford has performed well in the Top Tier.
His first Season with the Dirties in the Premier League yielded 17 Goals and 8 assists from 38 Appearances.
There is no way Chris Martin would have/could have matched those Stats in the Top Tier.If we delve back further into your 20 to 30 Year Time Frame, players like Strupar/Wanchope/Ravanelli/Baiano
have played for us. Again these are Strikers who have performed with distinction in the Top Tiers. Wanchope
scored 44 International goals for Costa Rica in 77 Games.https://www.transfermarkt.com/branko-strupar/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/10444
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-wanchope/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/3230
https://www.transfermarkt.com/fabrizio-ravanelli/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/4226
https://www.transfermarkt.com/francesco-baiano/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/107802
I'm sure I've missed some more decent Strikers in your Timeframe but it's late and I'm
off to bed - Gabbi, Kitson maybe? -

Think he scored a cracker at Pride Park a couple of seasons ago in the 1-1 draw. Like the look of him 😊
This would be the one you're thinking of.

Scored a corker against Blackburn last season to win the Match. I can see why they
are interested in signing him :- -

Martin was rumoured to be on close to £40k after his new contract whilst out on loan to Fulham. A quick google suggests Ravenelli was around that figure at approximately £38k. Swap Bielik for Ravenelli and that'll be my final answer.
£25k a week would be nearer the mark for his new Derby contract. His Agent was only (only!!!!!) asking Fulham to stump up £28k a week
to match the Derby offer, plus a London premium payment :-

Surely that must be the Peterborough retained list from last year.
The first name on there that caught my eye was Jack Marriott as a retained
player, but he joined Fleetwood Town on a permanent deal in January 2023 -https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-marriott/profil/spieler/268746
On the available for Transfer list is Mark Beevers but he joined Perth Glory
on a permanent deal in July 2022 -https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mark-beevers/profil/spieler/46744
Also on the available for Transfer list is Ryan Broom, but he joined Cheltenham Town
on a permanent deal in September 2022 -https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ryan-broom/profil/spieler/380029
On the Released list is Dai Cornell, but he joined Preston on a permanent deal
in July 2022 -https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-cornell/profil/spieler/89648
Those were 4 names on the list that I was sure were a bit iffy for a current 2023 List,
but I can't be bothered to check all the names on there. -

They only have a 180 degree reach. The other half is full of fish.
They did get their best ever Player from Guernsey, which is near enough Due South of So'ton, so that gives 'em a 360 degree reach by my reckoning..........................................................................................................................................................Matt Le Tissier

Well again clearly wrong as in 2017/18 we sold Ince and Hughes so couldn't have made a loss of £8.11 m, or a loss at all. We bought Wisdom Hudd and Davies and Jerome I think, all much less than we got in transfers in. . total spend on transfers was much less than £8 million even without transfer fees received.
Transfermarkt don't have us down for a Transfer LOSS of £8.11m for 2017/18 but a PROFIT of £8.11m -
that's why GoC put us down as +£8.11m for 2017/18 :-https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/Derby-county/alletransfers/verein/22

He has SIX winners medals. Most medalled player in DCFC history perhaps. Correct me please.
Off the top of my head - Dave Mackay, Archie Gemmill, John McGovern & John O'Hare
If you are too young to remember them, have a look on Wiki.
The 4 Players mentioned also had the distinction of winning some of their Honours with Derby County.

These are the Career all-Club Stats for Waggy, and for comparison I've added in the Wardrobe's, who a few on here think we
should bring back.
Since RoyMac5 has given your post a like, I've added in the Goal Assists for him, which he asked for on another thread :-
Mins Played Goals Assists Mins per Goal Mins per Goal/Assist Mins per Assist
========= ===== ======= ========== =============== ===========
Martyn Waghorn 28,764 126 70 228 146 410
Chris Martin 44,440 168 84 264 176 529
Just in case you think I've made those Stats up, you can check them here :-
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martyn-waghorn/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/61674
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-martin/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/46154
Do I think we should bring Waggy back? No, his time here has been and gone, though he would suit Warne's
playing style/tactics, so I wouldn't be totally against it. He's also got the right sort of personality for a Warne Squad.
Do I think we should bring Martin back? No, his time here has been and gone, and he would not suit Warneball, or a Warne Squad.
