  1. I like the snappiness of the team tonight!
  2. I thought it was a while but wouldn't have guessed at 11 years! Flipping Nora. Derby fans would burn the place down if we went to League Two....
  3. I hope you won't feel bad furlong, don't have a 'mare and rein it in.
  4. 🙄 there's more chance of Shergar winnning the Grand National than us losing the next five...
  5. what a difference a week makes.... the results are going in our favour! Bolton have to win every game and i think this extra game is really going to count against them at this stage. If you count today, they have 7 games in 30 days and can't slip up, plus they have Portsmouth and Peterborough.... Aldi champagne on ice.
  6. Ah, I wish we had two Nelsons. He's so good.
  7. He's good at getting on a cross, to be fair...
  8. What's the longest Shaun Barker can go without saying the word 'detail'?
  9. ooh, I got a pork pie before the Bolton game and forgot about it. it was all warm and gooey by the time I found it again on the walk into town. bliss!
  10. Get an elephant's foot pastry from Bird's Bakery on Albert Street. You won't regret it.
  11. If he's doing well, let him play out the season at Gateshead. Playing in a competitive men's league will do him the world of good, and he's got 6-9 games left, which he'll play by the looks of it. He's played the full 90 in their last 4 games. Better than warming the bench for our first team. If we have Waghorn & Washington fit(ish), plus NML, Barks, Gayle & Collins back in the next few weeks, and possibly JJ, he won't get a look-in anyway. He could play at Wembley! (do the National League Playoffs go to Wembley?)
  12. Lovely stuff. Good header for the first, lovely run and finish for his second. I like the fact the commentator keeps calling him Dijon Brown too. He really cuts the mustard.
  13. Marek Rodak, 27 - best of the three, most expensive though - 1st choice for Fulham when they went up to the Prem x 2. He's been in London for 10 years though. Doubt he'd want to play L1 football either. Christian Walton, 28 - solid for Ipswich last season. Looks like he missed the start of this season with an injury and couldn't get back in. A move to Derby would make sense. Luke Southwood, 26 - makes the least sense as he basically has 2 seasons in L1 with Cheltenham, who have been struggling. Tell a lie, he was at Reading 21/22 when they scraped 21st place. It's reassuring that there are decent replacements out there though, while future #1 Jack Thompson gets up to speed anyway!
  14. I still think we'll finish 2nd, mainly because of what a weird season it has been. Something tells me we'll just scrape it on goal difference or something. I'll buy a £15 bottle of LIDL Champagne I'm so very, sort of, maybe, confident. Points will be dropped, and I think things will look very different come sleepy time on Good Friday evening: Derby v Blackpool Stevenage v Bolton Barnsley v Cambridge Peterborough v Carlisle Wycombe v Portsmouth Stevenage & Wycombe are sods, Cambridge & Carlisle have to get a win to survive.
  15. Jeez, being Cambridge based I was hoping to get a couple on 2nd April, but I fear I'll have no chance!
  16. It's beyond frustrating that those same players put in a never-say-die fight against Bolton then rolled over against Northampton. Not a total disaster but even a point would've made a huge difference. It's just got tighter but I'm pretty confident the rest of the top 4 are going to drop points. They've all got some tough games coming up against teams fighting for survival or promotion. Keep the faith!
  17. it's his job to put crosses into good areas, it's up to his team mates to get onto them. I'm giving him credit because he managed to run around, tackle a bit, and cross the ball, rather than standing around looking lost, getting caught offside, or battering passes into the hoardings, which is what everyone else was doing.
  18. Bradley really is a useless lump. Ward looked good off the bench, tbf.
  19. This is a game I can see us getting one chance and finishing it, then getting a 1-1 draw. It'd be a good result at this rate.
  20. Bradley can't jump and, even when the ball is at eye-level, can't generate any power with his headers.
  21. Well, sell him. For money. If, as suggested, he told the club in the summer he didn't want to stay, they should have got what they could for him.
