  1. For about 60 minutes on Thursday I could feel myself sitting arms folded, cross-legged and I suspect with a face like I was sucking a lemon! When I met my pal on the concourse after we just shrugged at each other. I feel like I’m living off scraps of what this team is capable of - the 3 nice little triangles on the left edge of Lincoln’s box in the first half, seeing Wilson do his stuff. I didn’t even jump out of my seat when he scored the second though. Yes we’re winning and that’s what will get us promoted, but Christ it’s a hard watch a lot of the time!
  2. Not the first time Sonny Bradley would have got caught in No Man’s Land!!
  3. Completely this. If he’s going to take half a season to start one wonders whether we should be taking the risk in January? He looks like a talent and appreciate he’s Arsenal’s player, but he’s here to do a job for us. Unless he’s played 3-4 games of 60 mins plus in the next month I’d be very concerned about allocating any of January’s budget on him.
  4. Explains why I couldn’t find it in the Lincoln thread 😆
  5. Wildsmith Ward Nelson Cashin Foz Bird Wilson Hourihane NML Collo. Barks Bird playing deeper so he has the game in front of him (he doesn’t attempt or score enough to be playing higher up). Use Hourihane’s strengths further up the pitch (I.e. not taking it off the CBs and having to defend the final third). Barks said it himself on RD (“Once upon a time I used to be a striker”). Fox in the box Saturday, might get on the end of the myriad crosses from Ward/NML.
  6. There’s only one thing I can think of that’s worse than managing Stoke. Having to drive to Stoke, to manage Stoke!
  7. https://x.com/jpercytelegraph/status/1736808756556837012?s=46 Seems a backwards step. Maybe Pompey’a boss gets a move to the Champ?

  9. Poor game management cited by both PW and Barks in the RD post-match interview. Needed cool heads and we didn’t have them.
  10. 1Wildsmith - 5.5. Only had to really worry about kicking the ball for 89 minutes, and didn’t do that particularly well. 23Ward - 6. Did his best to make things happen with his delivery but too often into an empty box. Should have probably risked Vokes getting his shot off and hoping he fluffed it/hit Wildsmith. 35Nelson 7. MOTM, which says everything about the quality of the game. Solid as ever 6Cashin 6.5. Warne had his pants down sticking him on the right of a 3. ‘’NUTZ!’. 3Forsyth 6. Wasn’t at his best, though not the only one. Gets a pass ‘cos it’s Fozzy innit. 5Bradley 6. Marshalled their ‘threat’, such as it was. 4Hourihane 5. Surprised, given the precedent set by the ref early doors that he didn’t see red. 7Barkhuizen 7. Extra point for the ‘Fox in the box’ finish. 2Wilson 6. How he plays won’t always pay off, and it didn’t really yeaterday. 19John-Jules 6. Seemed to be competing for Collo’s favoured birth on the left wing at times. Not his game. 8Bird 5.5. Forgot he was on the pitch after a while. 17Sibley 5. A very ‘Sibley’ yellow card. See Bird! 22Fornah 6. Brings a bit of energy. Would rather he paired with Bird than CH as Ward’s delivers a better ball. 11Méndez-Laing 6.5. Bright in parts and great ball into ‘the corridor’ for the goal. Otherwise pretty well marshalled by the opposition. 9Collins 6. ‘E’ for effort! Point off for wandering 20yds to get a pointless booking. ATG.
  11. I’m not saying it should be every time we restart, but it’s literally NEVER an option. We reverted to type yesterday with slow, laboured passing side ways and backwards far too often, albeit they came to sit in and frustrate and things improved a bit when we went 3 at the back (Eww, I feel dirty!).
  12. Very poor distribution from Joe yesterday. As an ex-keeper it’s the part of his game that I find most frustrating. Why we don’t leave NML or Barks up when defending corners, so he has a quick out ball is beyond me.
  13. Cash should never play at RCB ever again. Honkin’!’
  14. Think if PW is going to make a decision on TJJ he needs to be starting games and at least getting 45-60 minutes. No time like the present.
  15. Christ, it doesn’t take long for this place to become toxic does it? Forgettable game that seems to have released excessive testosterone across keyboards far and wide. Grow up the lot of you, before I bang your heads together!
  16. Let’s hope Pompey’s gaffer gets poached by a Champ club (Brum might need someone soon!) and they fall to bits! They looked decent tonight though.
  17. Unknown South American with a questionable passport……😆
