  1. Thank you Warne and team for giving us summat to get excited about! Mid table anonymity is soooooo boring COYR🦍
  2. My son is now 40 and living in NZ with a lovely family and he came 'home' this year to see his dear old mum and Dad. I say this not to gloat but to show that there are incredible outcomes from Fostering and Adoption, as I married his Mum when he was 3 and I had to go through some gruelling stuff before I was allowed to adopt him, despite the fact that we had been together 2 years by then. Curiously my wife also had to adopt him as well (go figure) Despite all the issues of an abusive father etc he has grown into a fine family man and I am so proud of him. I am and always will be his Dad, Keep going Dave and well done for giving these kids a chance
  3. NEVER EVER take your eyes off them if not in a secure environment.(only those who did, will know that feeling when you cant find them) Give love unconditionally but dont expect a thing in return, they didnt ask to be born (they will tell you this themselves) Understand that with girls the aliens will come in the approx thirteenth year, and remove any semblance of the child you had for the previous twelve years. With boys find the stash of 'lady' books and smile Take the enjoyment from every moment you get, it is all to brief, and you earned it! Good luck
  4. That is seriously sarky Mrs Silverback was not amused
  5. Sorry meant to add what a difference a good ref makes. Maybe Becky should get a look at this guy and learn how to do it properly Let the game flow, book players only when necessary, the game never once got out of control.
  6. Lincoln set up 5-4-1 out of possession from the get go (surprise), so the best option was to go wide, as the middle was clogged. They started well and but for some timely tackles we could have easily been embarrassed, however once the breakthrough goal came I thought we took control with the exception of one blunder to give them a lifeline penalty. Felt for Ward as he had been lobbing some good crosses in, but he was not helped by the winger in defence and we got caught, but the penalty was absolutely stonewall and it put their tails up for the start of the second half. They had an early sustained attack in each half which we contained, and once the second went in they had to come out, which gave the spaces needed and the pass to Collins was inch perfect. Though for me he was a yard offside (lino was daydreaming and not up with play). Dont care though we have enough things go against so will take that. We are winning games and scoring goals against decent teams, but the next 4 games will be the key to the season. and against tougher opponents we could be found wanting, however if we really fire on all cylinders I believe automatics is not beyond this team. Just as a footnote me and Mrs Silverback were trying to workout how many of the current squad would be able to hack it in the Championship. There wasn't a long list. Could this be worth a new thread in the NY once the Xmas results are in?
  7. What I saw was a team who came for a point, they celebrated after as if they had just won at wembley. We always find it hard against teams who do this. The ref didn't help by booking so many so early, I noted several tackles which were shied away from later, spoils it really because its those 50/50's which get the crowd and the team going. Why did he trip the player at the end he was running straight at Joe who for me had a really good chance of saving Game management my ar$e Coming back it felt like we had lost, never mind on to Lincoln wonder what their game plan will be 🤐
  8. 5 games unbeaten against teams who at the time were around/below us at that time Next is 5 more who are now around/ below us because of it, these will be the 5 which are most defining for our season if we are saying 10 unbeaten after these games, I shall start believing we can be serious contenders. So for now lets be happy and hopeful with some founda tion instead of hope. Onwards and upwards .......COYR🦍🦍
  9. Quote “He has never managed in League One, so that will be a new challenge for him relegated down a division or two" “As a coach, he is pretty much unparalleled in football. He doesn’t need the money, for him it is about personal challenges and I expect that will be more a driving force for him. 😉 Anyone got his agents number?
  10. I was one of the" frozen few" who made it and it was well worth a fiver (OAP) First half we were dominant but first 15 of the second they found some energy (size 9 applied to the relevant players methinks) and had Marriot headed the ball towards our goal, instead of his own, this might have made us nervy. They eventually ran out of steam but brought on nearly every sub they had to boost the energy level, but it also reduced the quality from them and once we got NML on the ball, his pace got us back in it and there was only ever gonna be one winner from there. Lovely cameo from Weston again and it was his chasing of their keeper that had a part to play in the final goal, he is very quick and I think Warnes use of his and NML's pace against a tiring defence is what eventually made the game comfortable. # footnote Their young (21) left back Montgomery was impressive until tiring a bit late on. Could be a relatively cheap shout for January to give Fozzie some competition PS I read £20,000 participation fee plus £10, 000 per win going up to £100,000 for winners, so not a bad nights work for a freezing weekday night in December
  11. He appears to have the ability to prod the ball in the net (first and only priority in my eyes for a striker) running around like a loonie chasing lost causes (see J Collins) can be added later🙃
  12. silverback

    Oops

I believe this may be the best bit of fortune this year No point chasing around hoping to get a BIG team just for the revenue, and ending up with a mile long injury list and added suspensions We should be going for top 2 and playing weakened teams aint gonna cut it. The squad is looking strong now as key players get back to full fitness so onwards and upwards to the CCC...... COYR🤩
  13. City ground to return to farm land With all the shiite thats been put on should be a hell of a crop😉
