davenportram
I hope GB They are in form The first 6th Seed from the NFC to get their. They beat the Top 3 teams in the NFC away from home They had to beat The Bears (top seed) in their last regular season game They have a good chance. But they are very close to the Steelers stats this season. I think it will be a close low scoring game.
Alex W
Steelers seem the stronger outfit, but i'm big fan of the GB quarter back. I'm going for a Steelers win, but i'm not sure so only got £20 on it.

Oomomo
http://www.eatliver.com/img/2009/3849 I heard from my brother that Association football was named that because it was played on foot apposed to horseback. Don't know if it's true or not thought.
Alex W
I know that it was the English that created the word 'soccer', and we always complain about it yet forget that it was us who created it when in America.
SillyBilly
I know that it was the English that created the word 'soccer', and we always complain about it yet forget that it was us who created it when in America. You say us, I say Americans. It was only after the war of independence (and well after it) that the term soccer came into play, this makes them Americans not english. Not sure where you have sourced your information. "The governing body of the sport in the U.S. did not have the word soccer in its name until 1945, when it became the United States Soccer Football Association"- sourced from the ever reliable wikipedia. Alex W
I am led to believe that the word soccer was used during colonial times, even if it wasn't used officially until 1945. Henceforth making it a word started by English settlers/soldiers.
SillyBilly
Hence I asked your source as I thought it was of American origin and from everything I've read it appears to be so.
Alex W
It was on a BBC program, think it may have been Stephen Frys tour of America. Not entirely sure, but it was a factual show so i'm presuming they had their facts right.
SillyBilly
Just seems abit bizarre to me considering all the first clubs founded there had football in their name including the leagues then it all changes a century and a half later.
davenportram
Its a close one. GB to hold on and get a big defensive stop in the last minute.

4-2-3-1
great game, awful half time performance from Black Eyes Peas. Steelers only have themselves to blame, 3 TD's from turnovers and a number of silly penalties. Never mind, credit to GB
davenportram
That was the difference, GB didn't turn the ball over once all game. Meaning they hardly gave up field position or let the Steelers keep turning the momentum round. It was an excellent match, both teams could have won it. I was nervous right till the final throw by the Steelers.

Alex W
Considering the amount of money a quarter-back earns, I was amused when they gave him a car for the MVP award. Odds are he'll drive it home and stick it in the garage till he sells it
