The Brummies don't seem too happy about it, though. Just shows you the sort of financial mess a lot of EFL clubs are finding themselves in because of the coronavirus situation. As much as I’ll always appreciate the work Clough did here, he’s really not the man for a championship club with any ambition. Appointing Nigel would be basically an admission by the Birmingham board that they’re in serious trouble - but luckily they’ve got one of the best blokes to get them out of it and keep them in the division.
