Moustaches were compulsory at the back of the Popside in 1979. The lad in the denim was a top, top Derby fan. He was a regular as a kid from the early 70's and grew into a legend amongst us who knew him. He sadly passed away a few years ago at the age of 57, he had a season ticket in the East Stand right to the end. Without wishing to glorify football hooliganism, he once led the charge into a mob of Chelsea as they attempted to attack Derby fans leaving the Popside after one match. He was last seen chasing them up past the Pear Tree pub until we met up with him back at Doveridge Working Mens Club about 4 hours later. it all sounds so wrong now but it was bloody great fun at the time.
