TheresOnlyWanChope
McClaren was a very good manager for Derby- got us highest points total ever, on another season quite possibly automatic promotion with that tally. Shame we fell away the next season. Rowett has also done well, disciplined team, playoff positions. A lot better than when we had John Gregory! At the same age Macca was in his 4th year at Boro, having already racked up 4 years as assistant at Derby and 2 more at United. Rowett has had more time as a number one, but can't learn the same lessons lower down the league as Mac experienced before joining us. Mac would of course go with Premier League mentality and big players, whereas Rowett will bring more emphasis on lower league issues and tight spending. Both have their merits, but surely the expectations on Rowett need to be lowered by comparison. He will make mistakes with us but at least he will keep moving in the right direction. Rample Agree with all that just does my head in when people on here won't give him a chance just because he wasn't there choice Mac has done well at some clubs poor at others Rowetts will no doubt do the same I won't judge for at least another five years
