vicky-27
you can sleep easy at night now without worrying they have now been paid. The Premier League club obtained funds on Thursday morning and paid the cash straight into the players' bank accounts. A spokesman for the club confirmed that the players have now been paid and the confirmation followed chief executive Peter Storrie's pledge that the issue was on the brink of being resolved. A Portsmouth spokesperson said: "We are pleased to say the players have now been paid." Storrie was also keen to stress that players would not be sold on the cheap in order to help ease their financial crisis. He added: "I've had one or two calls and I think one or two people think there is some sort of fire sale going on. "That is not the case. If we have to sell players we'll sell them for their market price and not what people think is a knock down price

derbydan
the vulture's have properly decended on pompey now Udinese have confirmed they will take Portsmouth to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a bid to recoup money they claim to be owed following the sale of Sulley Muntari. Muntari joined Portsmouth from the Italian side in 2007 for a reported fee of £7million and moved on to Inter Milan in 2008 for around £12.7million. A Udinese press spokesperson told Press Association Sport: "I can confirm that Udinese has reported Portsmouth to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne in connection with a missed payment for Sulley Muntari." Portsmouth reportedly owe Udinese around £3.5million in outstanding fees involved in the Muntari transfer. The Barclays Premier League's bottom club are currently under a transfer embargo which was put in place in October. Last week, rather than hand over TV money which Portsmouth were scheduled to receive, the Premier League passed funds directly to teams to whom the south-coast club owed money. Pompey have written to the Premier League demanding that the embargo be lifted. Portsmouth are also preparing to appeal against a High Court judge's decision to dismiss their application to have a winding-up petition from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs struck out. The club have argued that the VAT portion of the massive tax bill is too high by £7.5million. On Wednesday Portsmouth confirmed they are being sued by their former player Sol Campbell. Campbell, now at Arsenal, has issued a writ through his lawyers for £1.7million which he says he is owed in image rights and bonus payments. Portsmouth confirmed the receipt of that writ, which they said was being dealt with by club lawyers. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5iH4MV9IM9dXpEpOb1KklF6kfE8DQ

Day
I went to have a look at what players Pompy had, surely they could raise the funds to pay these people pff buy selling a couple of players. Anyhow whilst I was on the site, I had to laugh when I saw a link for PFC Financial Services http://www.pfcfinancialservices.co.uk/home/ Think the club needs to apply for a few of those credit cards itself! CumbrianRam
What will happen if they go bust before the end of the seaon? Will all Pompey games this season be declared void? How many teams will got promoted/relegated?
Day
They would go into administration, they would come in and accept pretty much any bid for the players, could also look to sell the ground which would see Pompy rent it off the new owners. They would be allowed to play on for the rest of the season I would of thought, even if it means playing academy players etc. Wouldn't be surprised if they go into admin a few days after the transfer window closes.
