Training wear - Club shop Prices V Umbro Prices

Just been looking at some of the training wear on the DCFCMegastore site, and later came across this on twitter from a fellow Derby fan.

https://www.umbro.co.uk/item/147/AdultTrainingJerseys/UMBRO-TRAINING-JERSEY.html £14.50

http://www.dcfcmegastore.co.uk/item/unisex-training-t-shirts_1516-training-jersey_29_0_1281_1.html £30

£15.50 more for the exact jersey but just the Ram badge added on

Same with the sweatshirts

https://www.umbro.co.uk/item/173/AdultSweatsandHoodedTops/UMBRO-TRAINING-FLEECE-SWEAT.html £22 without badge

http://www.dcfcmegastore.co.uk/item/unisex-training-sweatshirts_1516-training-sweat_31_0_1285_1.html £40 with badge

https://www.umbro.co.uk/item/215/AdultJackets/UMBRO-TRAINING-WOVEN-JACKET.html £25 without Ram

http://www.dcfcmegastore.co.uk/item/unisex-training-jackets_1516-track-jacket_34_0_1287_1.html £40 with Ram

etc etc, can find all training wear from club shop on the Umbro site at much cheaper prices but without the badge.

Understand they need to make a profit but perhaps a little excessive for just the badge added on?

its always been like this though, every year you can get it cheaper without the badge. But seeing as the shop is run by a third party its their decision on pricing not the clubs.

I think its naive to believe that the club have no sort of sway with the manufacturers of our kit, which is why I'll be making a formal complaint for them letting Umbro create a kit with a transfer emblem rather than a sewn on emblem!

the club sold the tights to run the shop to a third party. So the club get a set fee from them and possibly a cut of profits but not sure of that. I dont see how much influence the club could have

Well the club still have to be happy with the final product seeing as it is a representation of the club.

In terms of quality yeah, but they have no control on price.

I'm not fussed about price, I expect to pay circa £50 for my team's shirt, thats the current market! What I'm berating is the fact they can't even be arsed to have the emblem sewn on rather than transferred on. I want this shirt to last its the nicest weve had in years, I don't want the bleedin ram peeling off

Down the road they've decided to run their own merchandising this season. Apparently they can't afford to buy much stock in because of cash flow and when they do have shirts, you can have any player's name on the back so long as they don't have an A in it, as they've run out!

The markup sounds a lot, but if you want club-branded gear you have to pay a premium. I do agree that badges/logos should be sewn/embroidered for that premium.

the logo is no t your normal transfer on its rubber, and as its not sewn or embroidered it avoids nipple rub.

that problem must be for those who may have let themselves go a bit as it's never a problem I've experienced.c

im just disappointed because this kit is the best we've had for so long and yet the logo will peel off long before the thread unravels on the ***** kappa ones

that's because they are all having asombalonga on it. Good news for them is al those that have bought one with Antonio Valencia on it will return them so they will get some A's back lol
