The Bundesliga has proved that it works. It's pretty ridiculous that it hasn't been introduced to be honest. There is no real argument against it.

The argument against tends to be in a Scouse accent.

Let them not introduce it and make teams lock them as seats when Liverpool come to town then. Let them live in the dark ages if they want to, football is ready to move on.

Realistically, when they come to town, Derby will need to install tight-rope walker safety netting for when they try to climb over the roof.

The real reason we have seating after Hillsborough is because theoretically it is easy to find out if people are in there when they shouldn't be. If a row looks overcrowded, the stewards just tell everyone to sit down in their seats and then it's like musical chairs- if you don't have a seat when the music stops, you're OUT.

In practice, the stewards tell people to sit down and they just laugh at them.

They did a survey where they asked fans about safe standing and 95% said that they would welcome it. No surprise that the ones who were against it were the Liverpool fans. Yes Hillsborough was a disaster but it had nothing to do with standing, more to do with the incompetent police force
