Duracell
This kid is special. Saw him race earlier this year - there's something about him that you only see with certain drivers. The Red Bull programme knows what its doing. He won't be thrown in unless he's ready, and they obviously think the best thing to do is to make his learning curve as steep as possible. I'm convinced he's a future world champion. He's going to need to hit the gym though. This is a good read: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/115436 Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/16165-17-year-old-to-race-in-formula-one-in-2015/#findComment-678183 Share on other sites
Dale The Ram
Right... I had my first driving lesson yesterday, it was my birthday Monday and I find out I have to take my driving test watching someone younger than me compete with Hamilton, Vettel, Ricardo, Rosberg, Alonso etc. this is an outrage!!! Hes younger than me!!! Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/16165-17-year-old-to-race-in-formula-one-in-2015/#findComment-679518 Share on other sites
AndyinLiverpool
It's a pretty risky publicity stunt? Does the kid have the upper body strength to deal with the power, g-force etc? Duracell
That was my first thought Andy, but he's with the best young driver development programme. They'll only throw him in if they think that's the best thing for him. This is the problem with banning Friday running and testing. In the past, he'd be the test driver for a season and do over a season's worth of running. Now he's got to learn it all in racing situations... Still, his body is coping with F3 well enough and the jump from there to F1 probably isn't as big as from karting to F3.
