Scottishguy
Person above talking about Maloney he has been injured most the season but is quality. Russell would be good but the squad looks decent.
Carl Sagan
I think with Kris Commons it was a grandparent thing. With Martin it's his dad so it's much more of a genuine callup. Very pleased for him and well deserved. Would have loved Johnny to be there too, but I think he's still struggling for fitness and we don't want him injured again. Expect his time will come. jam doughnut
Any reason Scotland have an away international in against Nigeria at Fulham? I believe it's because most of the Nigerian team play in Europe so it's easier to bring them all together and play their 'home' games somewhere in Europe. Plus making money may have something to do with it. They will perversely get far bigger crowds or even smallerr crowds but paying far more for tickets here than in Nigeria. Brazil do the same and have played loads of 'home' games in Europe including a run of games in recent years at the Emirates. They played Scotland there 2 or 3 years ago and there was a crowd of over 40k; half Scottish and half Brazilian.

Easterhouse is on the fringes of Glasgow and its a tad rough and notorious. Not far from Parkhead and full of 'heid the baws' and jakeys. Not the sort of place you want to get lost in. I can just imagine Martin roughing up a defender of two and saying ' oh did you know my da is frae Eastahoose and doesn't take kindly to anyone knocking his bairn aboot". North_Stand_Ram
I understand that Bucko can play for any team in the world because of his omnipotence, but because of his divine magnificence and generosity he has declined on the grounds that he doesn't want to give one team an unfair advantage. Buxo's bio on twitter says he's 1/4 Irish, looking for a call up or what!

jam doughnut
they played a weakened team against ukraine at pride park if you remember. Of course. Nearly 4 years ago! Only 13k. Funnily enough, you're right about a weakened team in that they were a lot of unknowns then but who are now household names such as Ramires, Pato, David Luis plus established stars like Alves. Just checked the Brazil v Scotland game that was only 6 months later....crowd was actually over 50k though Neymar and Lucio were also playing then.
