Anag Ram
KP hasn't done too well in this 1st test against India but Cook is amazing and Prior has done us proud. Monty for next test. Come on England. KP has been embarrassing in this test. So much for his humility. He owes the team now and should be in the nets solidly between now and Friday with Monty bowling left arm round from wide of the crease. This series is going to be all about patience and Kevin doesn't have any. However, he has come back before and it is to be hoped that he can blast his way out of trouble at some stage. Bairstow will come in for Bell, but I would also bring Morgan in for Compton, who has done ok, but looks like he is really struggling at test level. Having him and Cook at the top of the order is too passive and allows the bowlers to set any field they want.

Compton is an opener though, you could replace him with Morgan but move Bell up the order. Don't see why Trott can't open tbh They did pick the right team except for Monty instead of Bresnan

Don't see why Trott can't open tbh They did pick the right team except for Monty instead of Bresnan Botham's team looks reasonable. He leaves out Bell, Patel, Broad and Bresnan to leave Cook, Compton, Trott, Pietersen, Bairstow, Morgan, Prior, Swann, Finn, Anderson, Panesar. Stronger batting 1-7, weaker 8-11. Leaves only four frontline bowlers but they arguably pose a greater threat. The defensive first three are balanced out by an attacking 4-7. We will need to be aggressive to get this series back now. I'd go with that side. Bell is enforced anyway and guess Finn would do a better job than Broad based upon his height and being able to bang it in quicker (something a bit different on those pitches). Only issue would be that is 2 frontline spinners enough with the 2 seamers just taking the new ball and mixing it up once in a while? Pieterson will have to put in his share too with the arm. In India you need to bat long so emphasis on the bat is prob right. That middle order could explode or implode though 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Anag Ram
Get rid of that arrogant red dog broad. Poor little Stewie. He is quite lost without DRS. Everything's out when he bowls, nothing's ever out when he bats. Must have been great on the beach with father and son smashing their stumps down and storming off. Quite funny how he backed down in the twitter debate with Beefy - probably feared retribution. He's a sulky git but I quite like his will to win, even if he does support a team of numpties. froggg
Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen overcame a trial by spin in an unbroken stand of 110 as England reached 178-2 in reply to India's 327 in Mumbai. England lost Nick Compton and Jonathan Trott in quick succession. But captain Cook batted with supreme calm to reach 87 at stumps on day two, while Pietersen served up a reminder of his talent with 62 off 85 balls. Earlier, Monty Panesar completed a five-wicket haul and Graeme Swann passed 200 Test wickets. (bbc sport)
Anag Ram
Broad's got to go! He's a good player but everything is going wrong for him right now. Prior never looked like taking a run, got a call of 'yes' from Broad, then a 'no'. Now Broad's out himself. The collapse now includes Anderson. But it all started with our Stewie....
