Blu Ray Question

Say you buy an old film before the days of HD, a film like Top Gun or Goodfellas, what's the quality like, is it worth the extra few quid or can't you tell much difference from the standard DVD?

Star wars blu-ray is much sharper and cleaner than the DVD. But I don't know if they did any remastering for the Blu-ray

The original cinema film is shot in higher definition than Blu-ray so the picture quality should be better on a BluRay version than on a DVD because the definition isn't reduced as much

Plus blu ray offers Better sound too

Strange you said that, I saw the Star Wars complete saga on blu ray for £40, not seen them all and was wondering the quality would be all that

I paid more than that when it was first released, so 40 quids a bargain.

If you got a good sound system you will hear a difference if you can't see it.

Id say that's a bargain for star wars

No sound system, 50" Panasonic TV with its in built speakers. Might have to look at some speakers.
