I'm thinking of getting an ipad 2 for the girls, for christmas, well really, for us all to use. I'm thinking we'd need an ipad 2 rather than a mini one?

I would, the iPad 2 is same spec as the Mini I think for £320 but you get the bigger screen, iPad 4 you get a better quality screen, faster chip and Siri for £400.

If its just the games and Internet the 2 is more than good enough and saves you £80 to spend on more Xmas pudding. Siri is pretty rubbish in the UK, can't say I've ever found a need to use it, plus she never understands me.

If you want a mini, would recommend the nexus 7 that has come down in price to around 160, has a spec to rival or bet the apple but just not the name.

Personally I don't see the point of having a screen only 7", your phone does that job, so you may as well pay a bit extra and get the ipad if you are considering the mini.

Both my girls have got Dell lap tops. One has a Samsung Galaxy II phone,(and an i pod) the other a HTC summit or other - we've obviously got a home PC, which is a bit of a dinosaur ( i can post on here and fb) so I don't think a mini ipad is enough.

I just don't understand what apple has to give, over the others.

I don't get it. There's already a small iPad. It's called an IPod. We got an iPad because it's bigger and replaced the laptop.

People want to watch Corrie on 81" plasma screens with surround sound and HD. But they want to watch on a place mat?

Bet anybody who buys one drinks in Starbucks. Recession my ar5e

Apple has the App Store, Android crap has that play thing. Would you expect a Ford Escort and a Ferrari to be in the same price bracket?

Android crap might have an extra chip or pixels in it's screen but it doesn't have the polished apps that iOS have, Android the developers have to arse around with different screen sizes and resolutions, with a 1 year old Android you will soon feel left out as the latest apps and OS won't work. You will also be around 6 months to a year behind apps that get released on Apple.

Oh also Apple doesn't make it's devices out of old coke bottles.

Just hours after the iPad mini went on sale, car audio specialists are already installing it in the dashboards of cars. This example, [url=http://9to5mac.com/2012/11/02/ipad-mini-installed-into-dashboard-of-car-video/]first noticed by 9to5Mac, was installed in a 2012 Toyota Corolla by [url=http://www.soundwavesoftampa.com/]Soundwaves of Tampa.

[url=https://www.facebook.com/soundwavesoftampa/photos_stream]The install uses the iPad mini to play Pandora and iHeartRadio through a previously installed audio system. However, because the iPad mini with LTE isn't yet available, the car most likely has a MiFi hotspot installed inside somewhere for a mobile data connection.
