  1. The past few years European teams are realising how technically good the current generation of Japanese and Korean players are which has been a legacy of the 2002 world cup. It's also a cheap market to get into. A lot of players usually go to Belgian, Austrian and Dutch teams on loan with a view to buy (£1 mil max) and see if they can handle playing abroad. These European teams can then cash in a year or so later for loads more what they paid. Mitoma was the first signing by a English team that sort of bypassed Europe where they bought him for £4 mil loaned him to a Belgium club. If they let him get signed by a European team first he'd probably been worth £20 mil. Cardiff did this in Jan signed a very good centre back Tsunoda and have loaned him out to Belgium. If definitely a market we should look at.
  2. It's probably scouts from league 1/2 teams who are scouting for loans next season. We're probably already getting loan offers.
  3. Everytime santos touches him it's a pure wardrobe masterclass 😂
  4. Luke Thomas nearly put Bristol 1-0 up
  5. Portsmouth 1-0 up already
  6. Yokohama F Marinos is probably my favourite team since under Big Ange they played some of the most entertaining football i've ever seen. If Spurs back him this summer I think they could seriously challenge next year with an aging Man City core and Liverpool without Klopp. J league has become so much better in quality especially the physicality and the speed of play in the past 5 years or so. It's easy to watch since most of the matches are on Youtube for free if you happen to wake up at 6/7 in the morning on a Saturday/Sunday. Another Japanese transfer suggestion is Yuta Nakayama at Huddersfield who is on a free in the summer. Did his achilles halfway through last season and been a victim of 7 managers at Huddersfield since he signed so not had the best of experiences but is an International player when fit and ready. Very similar to Forsyth who was originally a Left Mid before transitioning to Left Back/Centre back and could replace Fozzy should he be gone in the summer. Yuta could play Left of the 3 or even left wing back in Warnes preferred 3-5-2.
  7. Miyoshi seems to have begun to settle playing in England so I expect a big season from him next year. As a J League fan I remember him scoring this cracker to make it 2-1 against Gamba Osaka.
  8. Castore have bought the UK/Europe licence for Umbro recently so they can make money in football but not through their own brand. They have had loads of problems since they've been making football kits from shirts ripping, missing badges even badges upside down!
  9. Don't need another title that's being greedy Clowes has already got the Watney cup back!
  10. Post match thoughts: Get him on the plane Gareth!
  11. I mentioned yesterday this is now the 4th spell he's been out of the team and has only completed 90 mins 6 times in his 25 appearances (2 of those in cup games). For a senior player who's probably on a decent wage for another 2 more seasons we should be getting a far more reliable player.
  12. Hopefully the EFL should get a better funding deal from the Premier League over their recent sale of TV rights in the next year or so that should address some of the losses but a big factor in the share of TV money will be dependent on if we are a Championship club. This is probably factored in by Clowes. Currently Championship clubs receive a 75% share of the EFL cash (L1 15% and L2 10%) and the latest offer from the Premier League is worth around only £3.15 mil more next season per Champ club than what they currently get. The Premier League’s current international television contracts generate around £5 billion for a three-year cycle. EFL clubs believe the offer represents around 14.75% of the combined overseas media revenue of the two leagues, depending on the exact figures of future television deals. However, it is well below the 25% the EFL is looking to secure. The Premier League has argued the amount equals around 21% once transfer levies and other payments are considered. This is where hopefully an Independent regulator steps in soon to guarantee this money for us and other clubs in the EFL alongside getting rid of parachute payments. My worry is how does the league stop an increase in players wages negating any increase in TV revenue.
  13. Hopefully he's had a swig of this at half time
  14. CBT has been so dangerous on the left. It was criminal not starting him last week.
  15. Nearly scored a try...I mean a goal from a scrum
  16. I have it as this: Wildsmith Ward Nelson Cashin Sibley Smith Adams Wilson NML CBT Washington I would say the 3 behind will probably be free to switch around. Elder needs sacking off in the summer this is his 4th spell out of the team for a senior player that's on a fair wack we should have been expecting a more reliant player.
  17. Dembele seems to have found his feet there since being coined a wonderkid at Celtic. His position is on the right wing cutting inside so our LB must be on their game defensively today and as the usual case with Warne wanting to commit our wing backs forward quickly Ebou and Hourihane/Smith must know when to fill the spaces left behind in case we lose the ball easily. Hopefully for ourselves we see a more calmer more coherent display in terms of our general build up play. Looking back at last week Northampton really had us sussed by crowding the width that we were trying to create from our wing backs meanwhile our back 3 spent far too long with the ball it meant the opposition were ready for any channel ball that was incoming. We need more presence inside so we are totally not a one trick pony so I would be moving Sibley in the 10 behind Waghorn/Washington. I'm not quite sure what Warne was trying to achieve with Thompson in that position last week.
  18. If it is puma hopefully we have a similar design to Malmo's new kit
  19. Maybe if Nigel Clough/Cocu was still in charge they'd put Cruz Allen in the 18 but I think at this stage in the season with so much on the line it would take a ballsy manager to do that.
  20. I think Rhodes will miss this game for them as he is recovering from a knee injury.
  21. Very very frustrating loss. I can't really think of anyone who made a good name for themselves today. All over the place tactically and was very reminiscent of the first part of the season. Everyone seemed panicky and was too much looking at each other rather than taking the initiative themselves. Credit to Northampton they sussed our standard build up game plan of getting it out to the Wing Backs as they had 3 men immediately surrounding when Sibley/Wilson received the ball. Their low block was making our back 3 have tunnel vision when we were trying to play it forward at time it felt ages before we would play the ball forward and by the time it would be played forward Northampton's defence would have found their shape again. Today showed the holes in Warnes system which is if you are wasteful or slow when the wings have committed it can spell danger as their goal was prime example.
  22. We're being a little naive to their low block. We keep committing too early and combined with our CB's being a bit slow with decision making it becomes easy to defend our long initial balls.
