  1. I didn't say they will all be starters, just that I would have them in my squad. In my opinion we have more chance of staying up if we get into the championship by keeping the players I named and utilising them as fringe players (while focusing on recruiting 1st team starter quality), rather than having a complete rebuild. If we spend time looking at a back up players; we may well lose out on players who would be regular starters.
  2. Wycombe 1-2 Derby Car Park: Not sold out
  3. I see what you mean, I was just going on the fact that the club have been calling it a bespoke kit. On the website for the current seasons shirt it says: “The Spireites’ new bespoke kits for the 2023/24 season are now available to purchase at the Club Superstore. This is the first time there has been a bespoke kit design for the Spireites since the 2009/10 season.”
  4. From what I’ve read in leagues 1 and 2, where most teams have template kits, teams could make around 40% of the net cost of a shirt. Hypothetically, if our current deal is along these lines the club would make £17.60 from the sale of an adult shirt (40% of £55 minus tax). However, in the premier league, where most teams have bespoke kits they receive 7% of the net sale from shirts. Therefore the club would receive £3.08 from the sale of a shirt if their deal is in line with the average. The big difference I presume would be that there would be a larger amount paid upfront, as opposed to only getting money from sales. I believe our deal would be different though, as I’m sure MM sold the rights for derby merchandise to Fanatics in a 10 year deal if I’m not mistaken. Regarding Chesterfield though, I noticed there two shirts are priced differently. The bespoke kit is available for pre order at £55, while the template kit is available for £39. I’d infer from this that the club would make a lower % from the sale of a bespoke shirt, than they would for a template shirt.
  5. There is an element of that in the decision making process of manufacturers. Mentioning this person might upset a few people on here, but Kieran Maguire has explained it quite well on his podcast. Basically, it is less profitable for the manufacturers to create shirts with a custom template if they aren't producing many. Therefore, for 'bigger' teams where they will be producing tens of thousands and even millions its alright, whereas for 'smaller' teams it is cheaper to get a template then stick a badge on. However, there are a number of small teams who have had bespoke kits in recent years. For example, Chesterfield had a bespoke home and away kit this season and revealed a bespoke home shirt for next season (I think their away one is a template). Puma seem to design some decent bespoke kits, even for league and non league teams. This years Chesterfield shirt had the crooked spire on the design, while York City's kit last season had the York minster cathedral built into the design. It would be really good to have a kit inspired by something related to the city of Derby.
  6. I'd go with these for the championship: Wildsmith - I'd give him a chance given how well he's played in L1, but he'd need to cut out his unenforced errors Wilson - looked good this season, so hopefully it will be less of a jump up in quality into the championship for him than last time Forsyth - been solid this season, but we'll need to start looking at a replacement for him for future seasons Cashin - not much needs to be said here Collins - key player for us this season, but id like to see a consistent goalscorer alongside him NML - one of the players of this season Smith - handy fringe player Thompson - handy back up with room for development Sibley - handy fringe player and could potentially up his value if we are to sell him Ward - doing alright atm Nyambe - solid rb Gayle - potential goalscorer CBT - were starting to see why we signed him now Adams - just what we need in cm Nelson - solid at the back
  7. Don’t jinx it!!! Being the pessimist I am, I’m expecting a 3-2 Portsmouth win.
  8. I’ve been saying this for a while. Then again it is ‘Warneball’
  9. Over the Easter fixtures were starting to see why we brought CBT in. Completely nothing to do with football, but is it just me or does shirt look a bit too big for him
  10. Personally, I hope he stays on loan at Gateshead for the rest of this season. While he is on a good run of form recently with his goal scoring recently; the standard of defending in the National League this year has been pathetic. I've seen a number of Chesterfield games in the division this year and I've been surprised with the lack of ability in the division this year. Usually, the national league is fairly strong, which is seen with teams doing well the following year in League 2, but this year its not surprising that 12 teams are still in a relegation battle with a couple of weeks of the season left. I'd say the best thing for Dajaune's development would be a loan spell to a League 2 team next season. Maybe at a team like Notts County, Chesterfield or Mansfield if they don't go up. While I'm sure that Dajaune has the ability to be a key part of our 1st team in the future, I see it being too much of a step up in quality with so few games left for us this season.
  11. If it is Puma from next season, I'd love to see a retro range similar to what Umbro have done this year.
  12. If you want to look for a positive, Sonny Bradley did get his head on the end of something.
  13. If we get anymore injuries to strikers could we not try him as a false 9? He has some of the key attributes: footballing intelligence; passing ability; first touch; shooting from range. This would give more space for the likes of NML, CBT, Barkhuizen and Wilson. It also allows Hourihane to pick them out with through balls, with them already running at goal.
  14. I think it's just part of the injury that he suffered. It's scary how quickly people can lose muscle in the legs where they suffered ACL injuries, you just need to look at the picture of Tyrone Sings going round atm.
  15. After the Bolton game I finally started to feel confident. So confident I went straight home to get tickets to see us lift the trophy as champions against Carlisle. Now I've seen the words 'play offs', that confidence has gone.
  16. If I was to guess it might be to compare 2 fanbases.
  17. I'm glad I saw this. I'll definitely be tuning in, as previously I was planning on listening to it while watching Chesterfield on TNT. And yes the Saturday 3pm blackout is only for non international weekends.
  18. What we should be trying to do with our recruitment is using a data led scouting approach, similar to what Brentford have used. I'm not totally sure about how our recruitment team work, but that's probably down to me not paying enough attention to what the club are putting out. By using a data led approach I'm sure we could unearth a few gems. If we look at the LA Rams NFL team, they used data about players' physical stats (speed, runs, times etc) to find undervalued players. By doing this they found a player called Pika Nacua, who went from a late round draft pick straight to a key player for them. By looking at the data they found that he had the physical attributes that can't be coached and worked on refining his technical skills. There's also the famous Oakland A's baseball team, who were the team featured in the film Moneyball. They essentially looked at the specific stats they believed would lead to a winning team and signed players based on their findings. It's fair to say our fanbase is in agreeable that Ebou Adams should be one of the targets for the summer, but why can't the club plug in his stats and see if there is anyone who is similar to him. Leading to Ebou Adams and Edou Adams 2.0 playing either side of a holding player like CH. Similarly, we need another striker so we could look to see if there is anyone with impressive finishing stats (on top of others) who is within our price range.
  19. What about Lawrence Shankland from Hearts. 20 goals this season, 21 last. About 80 in the last 5
  20. Some interesting names in there. I'd love Callum O'Hare, but I presume he'll be in high demand. Ivan Sunjic alongside Ebou Adams (on a permanent) would be handy.
  21. Had quite a bit of spare time today, so I thought I'd look at how teams promoted from League 1 get on the next season (in case we go up). On average, over the last 10 seasons, the teams to get promoted finish in 16.07 place in the championship. Also, teams score 0.56 goals less per game, while conceding 0.46 more goals per game. If we carry on at our current rate this season will finish with 81 goals scored and 40 goals conceded this season. Meaning that next season we would score 56, while conceding 61. This would give us a win probability of 45% (21 wins). Therefore, I would agree with those who want the club to bring in a striker. Here's a few of my suggestions: - Jay Stansfield (on loan from Fulham, currently at Birmingham) - Ike Ugbo (on loan from Troyes, currently at Sheffield Wednesday) - Liam Delap (on loan from Man City, currently at Hull City) - Alfie May (from Charlton) - Dion Charles (from Bolton if they don't go up)
  22. Having seen the success that Dajaune has had; it makes me wonder why we don't loan out some of our other youngsters to give them experience. Yes some have been loaned out in recent times, such as Callum Moore to Matlock, Harry Evans to Barwell was it and Harrison Solomon to Belper last year, but some that are closer to the first team would surely benefit. The likes of Fapetu, Lindsay and Weston would surely benefit from spells in the National League or National League N/S.
  23. It could help us get him next season if we're in the championship, so that he can play at the next level up
  24. There's certainly players from our promotion rivals i'd go for if we go up and they dont. Peterborough: LB - Burrows CM - Kyprianou CM - Collins RW - Poku Bolton: CB - Santos CM - Morley CM - Sheehan LB - Ogbeta (on loan from Swansea) Barnsley: CM - Kane CM - Connell
