  1. Then again, if he was, He'd probably be playing in the upper reaches of the Championship! 🍺
  2. Something we seem utterly incapable of at the moment. Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but even before the kick-off last night, both my son and I were staggered at the lineup, given the attacking talent we had on the bench. This, for a home fixture against a team at the wrong end of the table with a dreadful winless streak. Neither of us is given to irrational knee-jerk reactions, being intelligent and level-headed men, but both of us have concluded that a change has to take place. We know it won't be this season, so we'll suck it up and support the players, but we need to have a change at the helm in the Summer - whatever division we are in (League 1, most likely). As others have said, attendance will continue to slide and this will impact revenues, given the turgid, lackluster and unexciting fayre being served. Something is clearly not working, given the talent on paper at PW's disposal. This group of players simply can't be so bereft of ideas; it must be down to how they are being coached to play the games. This league is a dire standard and whilst yes, we are still 2nd, I don't think that's because of our superiority, but rather the failings of others. For the first time in my 60+ years of following this great club, I have never felt this despondent. We will only get so many 'get out of jail' cards dealt and we must be near the end of them now. We shouldn't have to rely on luck, but that's the only hope left right now for me. If we do manage to limp out of this League, we'll face an even bigger challenge without some material change!
  3. I get what you’re saying, but there comes a point when serious questions have to be asked - especially when we capitulate to teams languishing near the bottom of what is an extremely poor standard league. Our disturbing inability to maintain a lead, along with the dreadful standards of protecting the ball lead many (me now included) to question the man responsible for our approach.
  4. But just to bring a rather more dismal viewpoint to it, Crewe could only manage 5 players on their bench and I believe had 8 players out injured. Why didn't we change our gameplan by halftime to overrun a makeshift Div 2 team? We were too slow and deliberate in our build up, giving Crewe time to pack out the final third. You're right, we should have been out of sight and with better game management, maybe we would have been. The jury is still out on our tactical nouse - whether that lies at PW's door or the players - or maybe both, I don't have an informed view of. It's still very frustrating to watch.....
  5. Calendar or Fiscal - or Season, though? It kind of makes a difference.
  6. And for all we know, he and his team may have lined up several other youngsters in the Summer, only to be thwarted by the lack of finances to complete the deals. Who knows, maybe the budget we thought we were going to have at the start of Summer, changed as a result of some unforseen costs/changes that broadsided us and changed PW's plans, resulting in some of the ageing recruits arriving? This, from a marginally 'Warne Out' voter, btw. We don't know what we don't know! 😕
  7. Can't help but think it's still gonna end in tears. later rather than sooner though, so it appears.....☹️
  8. If we don't see some reaction of some sort very soon, then I suspect you may be right TLP. He will know what the mood amongst the fans is only too acutely. He was no doubt there on Saturday to witness the pitiful performance and more importantly, PW's reaction in his RD interview. What the hell was he thinking?? Love the bloke's honesty and personality, but I fear we are only going to watch an increase in toxicity as we limp towards January and the inevitable 'picking off' of our young talent. For their careers' sake, I think it is best for them to move on, much as it will gut me. It's a very dispiriting time right now - and that's speaking from a fan that's been supporting DCFC for over 55 years! I am bordering on apathetic, which is frightening for me, but the football is so uninspiring.
