  1. Oxford look panicky at the back - Rams need to strike soon...
  2. We just need to keep playing our game. Their keeper looks a flapper and we are more than capable if we keep our heads and play our game.
  3. I don't need to. I know what the rules say and I'm an experienced ref.
  4. Ref seems keen to give soft decisions to Oxford tonight.
  5. That's just daft of you to deduce that from what I've said.
  6. The ball was almost out for a goal kick when the contact was made; there was no way the forward would've got the ball. Therefore no penalty.
  7. So many refs clearly have never played football.
  8. Might be a typo - I did check the data but I’ll re-check thanks @YorkshireRam. It’ll not change anything really.
  9. Player Ratings after 22 Games Thanks once more for providing your player ratings after each game. Table 1 and Fig 1 give a summary of how things stand after the most recent game away versus Wigan. Curtis Nelson heads the pack with an average rating of 6.99, closely followed by Cashin on 6.78. The Top 5 comprises 4 defenders so we can see what this season has been based on hitherto. Wildsmith has done very well to gain an above-average rating of 6.32 (6.0 is "average") given that of late he has had very little to do so limited opportunity to score above a 6.0. I'm currently working on some charts to show relative movement across the season; for example Wilson has shown considerable improvement of late, as too Hourihane and Collins. The data generally shows few surprises - I think the data has good "face validity" in that this picture will fit in with most fans' "intuitive" view of whom our best performers are. I'm a tad surprised that NML isn't higher but I often think that some players who set a high personal standard sometimes get marked down when they don't quite reproduce that. Going forward, I will try and keep a more up-to-date analysis, but please bear in mind that over the last couple of days, I have spent nearly 9 hours mostly punching the data - it's quite time-consuming. I've also still go to do some analysis that some posters have asked about specifically. That will come if it shows anything of note.
  10. After 22 games, this is how DCFCFANS Forum members rate the players. The ratings are based on 375 observations (max) depending on games player by the player. Nelson is the clear leader, followed by Cashin. Top 5 is made up of 4 defenders so you can see what our season so far has relied upon. I'll be posting more analyses over this coming weekend. Surprised not to see NML higher to be honest. More analyses to come including recent improvements by Wilson and Collins.

  13. I love you, all Derby fans. I love the community we have here; I love the knowledge we share, the diverse viewpoints. I grew up in the 1970s and all we had was the newspapers. I love the experience we all have. I stood at Wigan yesterday with my 2 sons and shivered with pride at “We’re on our way..”….belted out …4,000 simultaneous voices. Thatcher tried to destroy the collective voice, society, but football is where it still exists. I may have the drink taken but feel I needed to express the sense of pride I experience whenever we travel & represent Derby. It’s special. Keep it up.
  14. Pinched from the Wigan forum. Just shows appearances can be deceiving...before the game i looked down at their number 6 and commented " who's that dumpy little fu**er ?"... well I looked up his name after the match..E. Cashin...no me neither. What a game that lad had, never missed a header or tackle. Absolute mom by a mile and just shows not to judge a book and all that.
  15. 1Wildsmith 6 Apart from a near-post block had Jack to do. 24Nyambe 7.5 Shut the trap door on McMannaman. 35Nelson 8.0 Imperious defending & game-winning goal. 6Cashin 9.0 MotM A masterclass of a centre-half display. Industry, skill, vision and barn-door bulk. 3Forsyth 7.5 Some lovely passes & unlucky to have had his goal chalked off. 2Wilson 7.5 Brought a stunning save from Mr Tickle and delivered some very cute crosses from wide-right. 22Fornah 6 Late legs brigade to see the game out. 8Bird 7.0 Brought intricate quick passing and quick press and ran the game first half. 4Hourihane 7.0 Combined well and kept the ball moving at pace first half. 5Bradley 6 Late legs brigade; busted his nose on 97. 20Elder 97th min sub. 7Barkhuizen 7.0 Lively. Great cross for Nelson’s winner but should’ve scored early 2nd half but stabbed wide. 19Sibley 6.0 Kept a grip on the game when under pressure. 11Méndez-Laing 7.0 Not as outstanding as usual but did the full 90. 9Collins 6.5 Unlucky not to score bringing out a good save from a very good opposition goal-keeper. Probably the best performance of the season. Derby were excellent and solidly dominant first half and despite pressure 2nd half we never looked vulnerable. As we sat in the mini-bus post-match a Wigan fan poked their head in and said “Well done - best team we’ve seen this season”.
  16. Half-marks allowed; please rate all subs. Closes Thursday @ 18:00. Results by Thursday 22:00. Average is 6.00. Therefore, when a sub steps on the pitch he is on 6 -that'sthe baseline. 17. 9 points. We need to be confident. Stop these silly tackles in our box. It’s do-able.
