  1. Again though. Just because it came out from the Sheffield Wednesday end. Not our end. They would not have been the only strikers we looked at But the fact we even looked at Lee Gregory should give you an idea how little money we have.
  2. Last year restrictions were worse than they are now. This year we still have restrictions. We've signed over 10 players since the summer all of which have mentioned how the manager has convinced them to join. Yet you're saying Warne has no ability to attract players? We've just signed one of the best wingers in the league this season as we were crying out for one. Everyone saying how we need some tough midfielder to stop us getting bullied, criticizing Warne for not signing one. We've signed one. Are you forgetting all that? Absolutely pathetic comment to say Warne can't attract players. I'm frustrated we haven't managed to sign a striker and I hope Washington and Waghorn come back firing and ready to go. Who knows we might get a free in? Dwight Gayle possibly? We have got no money at all. We've absolutely tried everything to get one in. We're fishing in a small pond so the options are not great. To sit there and have a go at Warne for this is a joke.
  3. From what I have heard. Something will be announced soon that isn't a new signing...
  4. You don't want me to tell you that two strikers are strikers?
  5. If by rest of season you mean the next few weeks then yeah.
  6. I really like Fornah. I do think there's a player there. I think he's far too laid back and loses the ball to easily sometimes. But he's young and has potential. But for what we need now. If Peterborough even considered swapping JCH for Fornah then I'd do it in a heartbeat 😂
  7. I mentioned him the other day too. Wolves signing a striker too so would free up Fraser.
  8. Thompson was literally out for 15 weeks. Smith has been out since god knows when. Fornah was out for Lincoln and Reading games. He's mentioned so many times that chucking young players in before they are ready can ruin them. How is he expected to chuck Fapetu or Robinson in? Obviously felt that experience of Hourihane and Bird is better.
  9. Sounds promising. If we can see the fact that the midfield is weak then it's highly likely Warne can as well. It's another think our fans have battered Warne about. Playing Bird and Hourihane together. When most of the last few weeks they've been our only fit midfielders.
  10. It's a system we also still play. We don't just play one system. Sometimes it's a 5 at the back sometimes it's a 4.. Elder was signed as he's a left wing back AND a left back. He played left back for Hull when they were promoted. Not left wing back. Nyambe clearly bought in as he can play as a RCB if needed but mainly as a better defending right back. You're making it sound like we've completely abandoned 352. We haven't.
  11. No that's fair. In hindsight we have. But we weren't to know that. Most clubs will spend most of their budget in the summer. We needed more work then. Now we're desperate for a striker. Ideally a midfielder too, but that's reliant on someone leaving.
  12. Sorry mate I would disagree here. Forsyth was our only left back on the books in the summer. He signed a one year deal and most agreed he would have been a good squad player to have. We then signed Elder, who pretty much we all agreed on that it was a really good signing. 28 years old, won league one previously, had 10 assists from left back. Unfortunately for him he was injured in pre season and missed most of it. Missing pre season is massive for any player as they are playing catch up. How do we know that he wouldn't get infront of Forsyth of he'd been fit and firing all season? We don't. He's clearly plenty good enough. His other signings. Wilson - Has potential to be really good. Bradley - Everyone was absolutely buzzing when we signed him. Didn't start great. Made a couple of mistakes (which is all you need to do in our fans cases before we write someone off) and he's unfortunate that Cashin and Nelson have been so good. We probably signed him expecting Cashin to go. Fornah - Definitely has potential. Still young. Hardly any experience. But there's definitely a player in there. Sometimes to laid back but he'll learn. Washington - A player Warne trusts. Just starting to see glimpses (the go against Northampton) of what he could do at this level, getting up to speed. Then he's injured on international duty. Ward - Obviously with 352 in mind. But now he just looks like he's surplus to requirements. I might be wrong. But I just don't see him getting a game or even on the bench soon. Waghorn - Steady played. No world beater. Cheap, convenient and will still contribute when he's back fit. Nyambe - Brilliant signing. Really good defender. Vickers - A keeper. Not really don't anything wrong. TJJ - Massive risk we felt we could take. Obviously looked at his ability and thought we couldn't get much better if we can get him fit. It's not worked out. Embleton - Can barely judge this. He did his thigh taking a corner in training. Some signings don't work out as you hope. It's the way it goes. But we don't seem to give anyone a chance before we want them gone or say they are s****. I've seen some having a go at CBT already after playing 80 minutes of football for us. I've just seen Brighton are letting Dahoud go. A midfielder they signed from Dortmund in the summer. Clearly not worked out it happens. We're a league one club, with hardly any money, working to restrictions. We can only do what we can do.
  13. In the summer we had one left back on the books in Forsyth and not a single right back or right wing back? And you're sat there saying Ward and Elder weren't needed? Of course they were. Elder has been unfortunate with injuries but I'm convinced there's a player there, just needs a run of games. It's only in hindsight now we have Nyambe and Wilson in that Ward isn't needed.
  14. Well said. We will be looking abroad with a view to next season when we aren't under restrictions anymore. We are under a business plan, working under restrictions following administration and people are moaning that we aren't signing players from abroad. I give up
  15. In the summer maybe. But now, Cashin in particular would be silly. If we sold Cashin. The money would have to be reinvested in a centre half. Not on the areas of the pitch we need. With Bird I honestly think we'll get more for him in compensation than any offers now. Makes no sense selling two if your regular starters half way through a season when you're going for promotion.
  16. Which he absolutely had to. We had nothing. Every single club will spend more of their budget in the summer
  17. Lee Gregory would be fine if there is nothing else we can get in. He's experienced, will be a handful and I'd fancy him to chip in with a few goals. What annoys me is I am reading some fans on twitter using this as a stick to beat Warne with. "I'm worried about Warne and our transfer policy if this is what we're doing" Do you think if we sat Paul Warne in a room he'd say that Lee Gregory was his number one target and one he has always wanted? No he wouldn't. Ideally he'd want a 24-27 year old proven league one striker who's ready to go and good enough to step up to the championship but if there are any available then 1. They aren't going to be sold and 2. If they were, we can't afford them. At all. It's like our fans have seen that we have next to nothing, had to dip into a loan pot for CBT and are just ignoring that. If Gregory comes in he'll get my support, he's a stop gap for the season. Gives us an option. Is he what I want? No. He's not. But he might be the best we can get given our budget. I've seen people say they'll be livid if we sign Gregory and we should have kept Brown. Livid? If be more livid if we didn't bring someone in. Brown is nowhere near ready yet. Thrusting a young player in early can ruin them. I remember when we got linked with Jordan Rhodes and people were kicking off then. He's second top goalscorer now. But alas, it's all Warnes fault. Warnes fault we've got no money, Warnes fault our midfield is poor when half of them are out injured.
  18. The direction of 11 wins in 15 games in and 3 points off top? I'm entertained when we win. Would you rather us play really well, entertain you but lose? This is league one. We aren't Man City we aren't gonna play teams off the park every week. It's minging and it's a hard slog, on often horrible pitches.
  19. Apologies if this has been mentioned. But did Warne say on the radio last night that we've put a loan bid in for a striker at a premier league club and were waiting on them singing a striker before they let him out? If so, my money would be on Nathan Fraser at Wolves.
  20. I'm not happy with the first half performance no. But I wasn't massively enthusiastic about the football under Billy Davies either but as long as we win it doesn't really matter. We've won 11, drew 2 and lost 2 out of the last 15 games. If we do that in the next 15 we'll win the league. Blackett Taylor has trained twice and played about 80 minutes in total. He's at a new club, new surroundings, won't know his teammates well and you're calling him uninspiring? It's mental.
  21. Honestly some of our fans are genuinely awful. The sense of entitlement some of them have is absolutely staggering. Yesterday was all about winning. The performance didn't matter. We're absolutely littered with injuries. Booking them off at half time? Who's that helping? Cheering the captain when he's subbed off? It's absolutely ridiculous it really is. Now I'm seeing "Blackett-Taylor hadn't really shown anything yet" he's been here 5 minutes, trained with us twice. I despair I really do. All I hear is "we aren't good enough, Peterborough are better than us, Bolton are better than us" Says who? Of course Peterborough were brilliant when they came here. But that was the same Peterborough side we put 4 past on their own ground? Bolton also just scraped past Cheltenham, Bolton lost at Leyton Orient. Oxford fans watching us that second half at their ground would have thought we were the best team in the league, we were outstanding. You cannot play well every week.
  22. Yeah that's a lot. Won't me much options off the bench that's for sure. Hopefully by Charlton away next weekend we'll have Nyambe back and a striker in at least
  23. Sounds like we're going to be missing a few tomorrow from Warnes interview. One definitely out. Two having fitness tests
