  1. They did to us what we did to Oxford. They looked fresher and younger and they played with confidence. I still think we’ll finish above them though. Thought Warne reacted well to the first 20 minutes feeling like the Alamo with us moving everyone forward 1 player to stop them playing it out easily. We certainly had more control during that period (by control I don’t necessarily mean the ball but we had them where we wanted them even if we didn’t have possession). Absolutely vile game management at the end which needs dealing with tbf.
  2. Wages should have a steady base but be heavily incentivised by appearance fees.
  3. It’s not the loss it’s the nature of their goals. They were such a good attacking side and yet we ballsed it up ourselves - how are we - the best defensive outfit in the league on current form conceding those goals? Piss poor and for once I’m not blaming Warne. Players have to be doing better in those situations. Stupid errors in the last few matches now. we can’t afford for them to become common place.
  4. 2 convincing performances in a row and you still want to come on here for a dick swinging contest with those who were critical when things weren’t good enough. Just enjoy the win ffs…
  5. And here it comes. Same as last season - go on a run of beating teams we should be beating before s******* the bed against half decent opposition. Lets hope we don’t let this dictate the rest of our season and we are able to kick back on.
  6. I understand that and it doesn’t surprise me Cash is so highly rated on there. I’m still going with Nelson though because he’s done all that at a brand new club and during a turbulent few months at first too.
  7. NML gets the plaudits because his stats are barmy this season but Nelson never drops below 7/10 and usually higher
  8. Dane Scarlett called back from his loan bt spurs. perhaps they’re gonna look for another championship loan for him?
  9. Yeah and that’s fine for league one teams but ultimately we want to go up so we’ve got to be better/more consistent than that. Things will always regress back to the mean over a long period of time which means we have to ensure performances are strong. I’m happy with parts of this run we’ve been on. I’ve enjoyed it but after the disappointment of falling away last season I’ve been burned before.
  10. Performances hadn’t been convincing despite the brilliant results. Similar to last season’s strong run. I want to see performances like that which we saw for 60 minutes yesterday to convince me we are good enough to go toe to toe with the best teams in the division when we meet them.
  11. If derby churn out more performances like the first 60 minutes yesterday then I’ll be back aboard the Warne train. That was complete domination and a travesty we only went in 1-0 up. Wigan lucky to have nil. it’s unreasonable to expect to see that level of performance for 90 minute after 90 minutes but we need to see that level of control mixed with some neat football much more regularly now to build on this and the good results. we could be 10 points clear with 4 matches left and I’d still assume we’d mess it up so I’m not getting carried away for a long time yet.
  12. Now that 45 minutes was the performance I’ve been waiting to see! Real domination and unlucky to only be 1-0 up. let’s hope we make sure to test tickle in the second half. test tickle Test. Tickle. 👀
  13. 166 mins per goal for Collins in the league 270 mins per goal for JCH in the league Why are we craving a striker who plays in a better attacking unit yet has a worse scoring rate than the bloke we’ve currently got? A case of the grass looking greener. He’ll sign, be another dud that we’ve signed after their peak for too much money and the cycle begins again.
  14. JCH 16 matches 4 goals in the most attacking side in the division with the most goals of any side. James Collins 21 matches 8 goals in our side. I get JCH ripped up the record books a while back but is it the same player? Remember Collins has a superb league 1 record too historically but some aren’t happy with him currently.
  15. I think he regularly looks a level above this division. Think he’s bulked up since he first broke into the team and isn’t lightweight anymore. He’s the midfielder I want to see on the half turn receiving the ball because I know there’s an excellent chance it goes forward effectively.
  16. How would we know if he’s better than Collins? Thursday night he had one decent piece of service and bagged. Every other cross delivered was cleared or went 10 yards over his head. Unless Juke is 17 ft tall he isn’t scoring from them crosses either.
  17. Set your alarm clocks lads 2027 will be our year. Youngest side ever to go up from the champ 👀
  18. Ideal is we get a deal of around £2.5m with at least £2m guaranteed and a loan back until summer. I think numbers like £5m are fanciful in this division with a contract almost up.
  19. Hopefully drag ourselves out of this horrible division, tell him we’ll make him captain and hope he stays. Want the team building around him, Fornah, Wilson, Nelson, Wildsmith, a fit TJJ 👀 etc
  20. Bloke is the top scorer for the third placed team and has scored double the number of goals that a striker our fans were creaming over has scored this season. Fornah is a good young player who’s willing to try things. He’ll lose the ball because he’s trying to move it forwards. Bird has more experience and is better at this currently but losing the ball trying to progress it isn’t the worst crime in the world. Can’t have 3 Hourihanes all holding hands with the centre backs.
  21. Manus under 18s are a class above aren’t they this season? and we’ve pushed them all the way despite them poaching loads of our best players during admin who’d be in our under 18 side now. Very proud day for our under 18s
  22. Which is all well and good until you get a standing place between 2 slab crackers
