  1. Forsyth now joins Ryan Nyambe and Jake Rooney in the group of players unlikely to feature again this season Source: https://the72.co.uk/2024/03/29/two-huge-boosts-derby-county-team-news-and-predicted-xi-to-face-blackpool/ Same story on derbycounty.news
  2. Read/heard on dcfc.co.uk from a PW interview in the week following the Bolton game IIRC.
  3. 38K? We'd take more than that. Having said that their >15K Wembley following is THREE times their average home gate of 4919, we took more than that average to Barnsley...
  4. Everything I've seen/heard has been Foz out for the season. Possibly not heard everything though. Bird is due to be available from the Wycombe game. Barks is training but not yet match ready IIRC.
  5. Don't know if this is what you meant... when PP was built, foundations were put in to allow another ring on the East Stand and maybe the North as well IIRC. The extra seating would increase capacity to 44K but he only planned to do the extension after we'd had at least one relegationless season in the PL.
  6. Forget Fozzy for the rest of the season. Bird might make the bench. Barks not yet ready.
  7. Catch on you did. Wondered if anyone would, I did.
  8. What I have noticed of late is that we, collectively, generally and at goalkeeper especially, we have started to perform shithousery of our own. I've lost count of the number of time JW has gone down when we've been under the cosh somewhat. You're right, it's one of those that's not won until after the rotund bint's encore...
  9. Physical approach to the game they have. However, if one of ours looks at one of theirs too hard, they will fall over, grab hold of a body part and roll around in agony. Free kicks and throws are generally taken very slowly to run the clock down and 15 yards forwards of where they should be taken. They aren't a footballing side so they rely on a stop/start strategy to ensure the opposition, in this case us, don't get the chance to build any momentum. Historically, we have had difficulty combatting this type of football. I expect similar next Wednesday. Matters might get complicated by whatever their result against Posh in the EFL Trophy final on Sunday is. They win, will they be lifted by it or still drunk on their success. Would defeat deflate them or spur them on? Extra time would be helpful to us, whatever the result at Wembley. We'll need patience and self control but we ought to win, putting us a step closer to promotion. Posh are in Cup action this weekend, Bolton go to Bristol Rovers where we hope Coldplay does some damage to help us and Barnsley visit Charlton who have drawn their last 3 and I wouldn't refuse them a 4th on the bounce.

  11. Their 1st? Might have been just offside but too close to call and the ref's assistant got it right in giving the benefit of any doubt to the attacking side. Handball for the 2nd by Raggett, definitely, although Collo's half hearted "challenge" didn't help. The ref taking account of the slippery pitch saved JW early doors and their player (Saydee?) when he took Sibs out 5 hours late. Their player was looking for the penalty, imo, he appeared to be going down of his own volition as soon as he felt contact. The ref didn't buy it. I have to admit I thought it was one and then, from the front on replay understood why it wasn't given. Another day, another ref and it, and the 2 red cards, would have been given. Swings and roundabouts. They had the lion's share of possession, we had more shots, same amount on target. The fox may have cost us a 3rd as we had numeric advantage and it was our speed merchants up there. Stopping play was the right decision imo. All in all, I view a draw as the right result.
  12. Hell NO @NickPFC , anything but a "music for the manically depressed" song from Morrisey, whatever minor it's been written in 😉
  13. Be careful what you wish for Dave. Smith at RB would guarantee Hourihane a place in the "2" in front of the back 4.
  14. When you rent something, a building, plot of land, shitheap, whatever, as long as it's not disallowed in the rental/lease agreement, any moneymaker you put on, the profits are renter/leaser, not those of the owner. That will apply to the shitty ground too.
  15. No wonder B4 was never a Pompey fan 🙂
  16. Midweek, predicting a win in a treble for Posh, Trotters and Tykes worked as they all dropped points. At the weekend I predicted a win for all 3 again, this time adding wins for Lincoln and Oxford into the accumulator. All 5 won. Not the desired effect on the points front by my €5 delivered €94.50 Tonight, we'll be going for the win but I predict a repeat of the 1-1 draw at PP earlier this season.
  17. 10) If you're a Soton fan, Portsmouth 😉
  18. @Comrade 86 The back 4 has proven good all season, when used, when Bradley's ban is over, IMO, he can expect to warm the bench again. JJ has been said to be a possibility before the end of the season.
