uttoxram75
I don't know about that, but, when having a pee in Pride Park I feel like Steve Bloomers watching. ......and laughing....
Boycie
Anyway, Who's been on the ghost walk in Derby, the one that ends up in a meal/piss up in the Dolphin?
ladyram
Not yet Boycie, it's on me to do list though. Is it the one with Richard Felix? Anybody done the Edinburgh vaults and Greyfriars cemetry tours? They're great, have the history & the scare factors. If you go to the vaults, look out for a guy named Boots and Burke & Hare, the body snatchers.... Boycie
Yes, that Cnut Felix. He loves himsen he does. Brahe tours about £26 including food I think?
Cisse
I'm always hoping to get my Derby visit at the time of Ghost Walk. No luck yet but perhaps this year.
ladyram
I'm going on it soon I hope, got to get my daughter to stop being such a scaredy cat and come with me, cos I'm not going on my own, I daren't 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . But if anyone from here is ever up in Edinburgh, go down the vaults, it's incredible to think that there were loads of poor people living underground, they couldn't go anywhere else. It even had taverns and such, basically it was a town, it's a brilliant place.

SillyBilly
Whenever a scientist says it's all in the mind, I think that's a bit of a kop out. That can't be science, as he can't prove or disprove that they exist. So surely then that statment becomes nothing more than opinion? Fairplay LR. Aside from debating your sanity 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> , the mind does play tricks and quite often. I think somebody posted a video a while back on here where our eyes (or brain rather) are fooled by a rotating mask, we can't tell the difference between the hollow side and "normal" side because our brain sees what it wants and refuses to acknowledge what is infront of it. Its a nice way to show how our brain is limited by evolution. The examples are pretty numerous. A simple mirage in the desert is widely known to have caused many a traveller to hallucinate. The brain facilitating what it wants to see in this case. I have relatives who swear blind they have seen ghosts and I do my best to just sit there, particularly when its a loved one they claim to have seen. Going off-topic I know but what makes me sick is people exploit this emotional vacuum left by loved ones for monetary gain, one can walk into your local library and take a book out on the "art" of cold reading. Derren Brown did a great job of learning this skill despite admitting he can't speak to the dead in order to expose the industry.

I'm sure they're all very sound and level headed guys too who think they know more than me about all things paranormal. Maybe in most areas they do but they cannot prove to me that the old lady I saw with the criss-cross design stitching on her dress was not a ghost. She was there, plain to see. Silvery white hair and aged skin that looked like crepe paper. If it wasn't a ghost, I'd really love to know what it was. One thing I know is that it wasn't an halucination, it wasn't down to tiredness, stress, being drunk, anything. I know what I saw, I remember at the time thinking that I really shouldn't believe what I was seeing and tried to prove my eyes wrong. But then I saw her move across the room. Folk will make of it what they will but to me, I believe I saw a ghost and I don't think I'll ever be persuaded otherwise. Am I mad? Maybe.. While I acknowledge it was her decision it annoys me how these people willingly rip off vulnerable people.
ladyram
I agree there are some unscrupulous greedy barstewards who will sadly turn a profit from other people's grief and I feel sorry for those people. They are took for granted at their most vulnerable and it's cruel & wrong. At the end of the day though, I'm still convinced by what I saw. I can assure you I know nothing about the paranormal, must have missed that module! 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> This stuff is up for general debate, I can't and don't contest personal accounts, whether someone says God has spoken to them or they've seen a ghost, who am I to tell a person what they saw or heard? Depends which scientists you get hold of, I've seen some of these shows where a geeky looking chap goes round holding up a broken TV antenna listening for interference or walks into a darkened room armed with an Olympus Dictaphone listening for "static energy"!
