McRamFan
Nope, however might have a bet that someone interrupts it like the boat race
ladyram
It's a spectacle alright, money's made from it hand over fist and it's good to watch. But is it fair on the horses? That's another debate altogether. It's true lots of horses are bred especially for this race, they are in tip top condition and get the best of care but yet it's the course itself which over the years has in effect killed 20 horses. I reckon maybe the highest fences could be lowered a bit, it might not be so dangerous then.
Day
I'd watch it it were Penguins instead

Let's jump in front of a stampede of horses..... err, no!

Lowering the fences is actually more dangerous as the horses jump over them quicker and can do more damage when landing. It was the ground that caused all the problems last year, it was too quick, soft ground is a must as there's more give in the ground on landing. It is the greatest race in the world, and it would be ruined if it is tinkered with much more. Leave it be.

-JW-
A lot of hype on Shakalakaboomboom @ 16/1 Start of the week was 25/1. Loads of people are piling money on it probably just because of the name although it is trained by one of the best and ridden by Geraghty who was excellent at Cheltenham. MrsRam
As a (sad) family, we usually pick one out of a hat, then pick a name that we fancy. The one I picked out of the hat was Junior. The one I picked for myself was...."I'm always right" Obv, the kids wanted Shakalakaboomboom.
MrsRam
Organised Confusion and Seabass - two lady riders I've been told. They'll be good for a fiver - there's no reversing, or parking involved.........(I'll say it before you lot do)

Whilst it doesn't take away from the spectacle of the race, the methods chosen to make it just that bit safer reduces the risks to the horses, which I think is a good thing.
