There was a rating for young goalies for your National team in Finnish football magazine today.

1. Ben Amos 2. Jack Butland 3. Declan Rudd 4. Frank Fielding 5. Scott Loach. Opinions ?

  • List was done by Jeff Wood who is goalkeeper coach for Norwich. He played in Finland 1982.

Frankie and Scott Loach are both better then the other three.

Ben Amos got top because he plays for Manure, Butland has only played a handful of games at League Two level and Declan Rudd has played very little football as well, and has been fairly unremarkable when he has.

I find that a slightly bizarre list.

Alex Smithes at Huddersfield is decent, just came back from a year long injury.

What is the age criteria for this piece?

Joe Hart is only a year older than Frank Fielding, 23 must be the cut off point or this bloke is talking twoddle.

Actually the piece was about how wonderful Joe Hart is and will be. Wood chose future back up goalies for Hart and oldest were 23 at this time.

If he becomes half as good as he does in Footy Manager - he'll be a cracking goalie.

In that case we should sign him. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Was going to say Joe Hart is only one year older than Frankie!

They probably just took Hart out because he's the clear number 1.

Can't see how they can put Ben Amos there, when he's only played at league 1 level.

Fielding and Loach have played at championship level and played consistently well.
