the day after I went to the Spalding concert and saw Hendrix, Cream, Move, Pink Floyd, Geno Washington, and Zoot money (standing right by the stage for over 8 hours, which seemed like minutes) Sergeant Pepper (greatest LP ever IMO) was officially released. No wonder it was the Summer of Love!

Were the Beatles stoned when they wrote Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds? L.S.D? I'm sure I read somewhere that was the thinking behind it.

well it certainly wasn't about money. 'http://www.dcfcfans.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

and yes, we all recognised it at the time.....but drugs were so expensive and hard to source in the 60s that only pop stars could afford them. Nearest I ever came to drugs was when the press handed me a joint at a rock festival. Not being a smoker the girl I was next to passed it along the line.

It was usually booze at parties.
