Alex W
Hello chaps, Now, with the new FM set to hit the shelves tommorrow, and me already sick of writing out this unrelated game guide, I was wondering: What is your current first team eleven in FM? No matter what year or what side, post them here and be ridiculed for your ridiculous signings. Right, me to start! This is my recently promoted Derby side on FM10, never upgraded to 2011 and will be getting the new one in a months time once I have the time. The formation is 4-2-3-1 with both defensive midfielders being slightly higher up than usual. So, my current side....... GK: Brian Vandenbussche http://eredivisie.infostradasports.com/images/lib/news/large/PRO_430702_BrianVandenbussche Signed like much of my squad during the first Pre-Season upon promotion to the PL, I needed a goal-keeper with Bywater, Deeney and Atkins all being sold on within the first few days. Transfer listed at sc Hereenven, I signed him for a cool £775k. 7 games and 10 goals conceded might sound harsh, but that's including two clean sheets and games matches against three of the top four. He has made several fantastic saves already, and while Bywater had been excellent for me the season before, this lad is outperforming him in a tougher league. He's only 28 too, so plenty of time to learn and improve. Quality signing for any promoted side. Alex W
LB - Jlloyd Samuel http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_A3tEJ6CiSTc/TE11b3QNcDI/AAAAAAAABKk/geLwTGOgGF8/s1600/jlloyd Having got shot of McEveley straight away the season before and Moxey was sent packing too, I turned to Big Sam's Mr Reliable, Jlloyd Samuel. Now, in real life is career is on the slide but at this point he was merely a back-up at Bolton. I liked him when he was starting for them and despite a very high price tag of £2m, decided to splash out on him. Partly due to the fact that I had an influx of cash and didn't mind, but mainly because the season was drawing in and I needed someone in. Luckily, he's very useful, and despite tiring towards the last ten minutes hes been pretty steady. 9 appearances in and no problems with him. CB - Christopher Samba http://u.goal.com/115400/115417hp2 Not much needs to be said. I was given a £25m budget to get Derby to mid-table, a hell of alot of money I know, I presumed the amount of points I won the league by last season meant they just threw the tv money at me, and spent £15m on Samba. Not many better in the Premier League and I was determined to sign someone who could be with the club no matter what we aspired to, so he's perfect. Bit rash at times but cracking 'stopper' defender. Doesn't get beaten in the air. Ever. 12 appearances, 1 goal and 4 Man of the Match awards. Perfic. CB - Miles Addison http://i.thelocalpeople.co.uk/275778/Article/images/12794960/2959663 Only few players to have survived the cull upon promotion, Miles has too much potential to get shot of. He has been at fault for one or two goals and has a nasty habit of turning up with a 5.7 rating at half time, but for some reason it's always the covering defender that screws up for me so no worries there. 12 appearances and pretty steady aside from the odd mistake, tricky players tend to tear him a new one unless kicked out of the game. Planning to switch him to defensive midfield at some point but at the moment I have no strong partner for Samba and two better DM's infront of him. RB - Stoor (On loan from Fulham) http://www.dcfc.co.uk/javaImages/50/cf/0,,10270~7524176,00 Decent right-back. Not going to be needed for next season but steady as you like for the moment, liked him when he was at Derby and so brought him on loan for my initial season in the league. 12 appearances and very dependable. He did cost me three points at Everton with a soft challenge that let them in but he was out of position at CB due to injuries. One of my favourite signings on the game, if i'm a Championship or Premiership side then he's in my squad, unless I go for one of the top four. Alex W
DM - Borja http://www.futbolistadigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/borja £1.1m signing just before deadline day, one of the two defensive midfielders I have just behind the playmaker. He was signed from Real Valladoid, same place as Bueno, and put straight into my team. He hasn't left it yet. Tends to get booked a fair bit but he's very reliable and hasn't put a foot wrong so far. Decent dribbling ability to I tend to let him get forward a bit more and his long shots are proving useful, so i'd suggest buying him if you he's available. He was a former Spain U21 starlet who never quite made it, he'd do well over in England, wouldn't mind him at Derby having seen him a few times on tv. DM - Ezequiel Carboni http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Ezequiel+Carboni+AC+Chievo+Verona+v+Catania+1LCtXIwXq52l Another £1m signing, he was the first player I brought in, this time from Catania. Knowing that i'm hardly going to be able to go all out attack with the squad I wanted, I needed someone to just sit in the middle and break down moves. Carboni is perfect for it, aslong as you don't want him on the ball aside from the odd sideways pass, he's great for simply mopping up and stemming the tide. Him and Borja work very well together, and he's tireless. I don't think i've substituted him aside from one injury, he doesn't need it. Alex W
AML - Ayoze http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2015/2222875607_9263e3943c_o The chap going arse over t1t in the picture is Ayoze, a winger for Tenerife and my main left winger. Another fairly cheap deal at £1.1m, he is decent enough at doing a wingers job, though unfortunately for him I don't really use out-and-out wingers so his ratings have been lukewarm. He's decent though, and when stuck on the right hand side hes been a danger as if told to cut inside hes got a great left foot to curl shots in, but aside from Steve Davies (Commons proves inneffective there) he's my only option there, so he's stuck on the left for now. Just the one assist to his name but he's alright for this season. AMC - Kris Commons http://mauveandyellowarmy.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/KrisCommons_650x477 Rather through necessity, Commons is my main playmaker at the moment. I have signed a £2.5m playmaker from Lazio called Mourad Meghini but unfortunately he couldn't settle in Derby so was allowed one months leave, and then after deciding to stay he pulled a hamstring in his first game back, so Commons is starting in. 12 appearances, half being substitutions late on, he hasn't yet scored or created anything directly, but he's performing well oddly. I've got a former Ivory Coast international by the name of Bonaventure Kalou pushing him for his spot and in fairness Kalou has been more productive, but Kris has been more reliable with performances and despite 0 assists has built up alot of moves so he's staying in for now. AMR - Danko Lazovic http://cdn.kliknieuws.nl/img/1/2009/10/18/o/lazovic-09381017evz2551 My star striker and biggest bargain. He's currently limited to the wide right slot because I have no-one good enough to play there. Ayoze could, but Steve Davies has been too poor to hold down AML so as a result of Ayoze being stuck on the left, Lazovic stays wide right. Despite that, 4 goals in 8 starts is a very good return, the bloke is fantastic. £1.3m for a player who two seasons before hit 14 goals in Eredivisie for PSV, his value is now higher than it was three months ago and he'll definitely be at the club for a while. ST - Borja Viguera http://suplestaldea10.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/borja-viguera Brought in purely as a back-up to Lazovic, circumstance has dictated that Viguera is now starting games as the lone striker. He's probably only a Championship striker really, but he'd be a decent one, think Michael Chopra but more work ethic and strength. Hopefully he'll be back on the subs bench once i've secured a decent AMR in January, but for now he's leading the line. Having said all that, he was only £220k from Real Sociedad and for that price he has been excellent. Only two league goals in 7 appearances so far, but he has scored in every League Cup game played, firing me to a quarter final fixture against Newcastle United at St James Park next month, so I can't grumble. So yes! That's my starting eleven at the moment Post yours if you're bored enough and let us know who's firing you to glory, or as more often than not, getting you the sack. (Joseph Desire-Job, i'm looking at you) Oh! And I realise there are a fair few spelling mistakes in there, but i've been up for going close to three days now, so please forgive my grammatical meltdown. Leeds Ram
my aston villa team on football manager 2010, season 2013-2014 is gk: James Harrington signed for 5 million from everton with kasper schmeichal going the other way, he is 20 years old and brilliant we have only conceded 20 in 23 with him in net RB: Juan Guillermo cuadrado signed for 8 million from udinese a terrific right winger who converts to a good wing back/ full back sets up plenty when used properly CB: Andrea Rannochia 25 years old 14 million from fiorentina a rock at the back and dangerous from set pieces CB: Toby Alderweireld 24 years old cost 15 million from ajax, brilliant cover and again a threat from set pieces LB: Danny Wilson 22 years old, good left back better center back cost me 5.25 million from my old club leeds was a bargain buy RM: James Milner one of the few still at the club since i arrived in 2012 CM: Nemanja Matic 25 years old a 3 million pound deal from chelsea and scored the winner against them last season 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> gets lots of assists and the odd wonder strike CM: Steven Defour 25 years old, a tireless box to box player signed on a free from standard liege worth 15 million LM: Ashley young, again one of the few to survive the cull. CF: Yannis Tafer took him from my old club leeds again cost me 15.25 million but at 22 years of age and a future superstar was a bargain and is banging in the goals 15 in 20 CF: Miralem Sulejmani 25 years old cost me 9.75 million from ajax 9 goals and 8 assists as well as being dangerous all the time with him sometimes deployed as a winger means he is a constant threat subs: Van der vaart, cost me 2 million from real madrid and scores screamers and sets up loads of goals John Fleck: signed from rangers for 5 million only 22 and is liable to score a goal Bruno renan 22 cost me 4.2 million and is a good ticking player in midfield Leon Atherton was already at the club and stayed on stephen warnock 31 and the same deal as atherton. While I have spent a lot i have culled 95% of the team and backroom staff, i have 22 million to spare in transfer money and 180k on my wage budget. Net, I have only spent 4 million which was one of the lowest in the league after shifitng agbonlaghore and delfounseo for 20 million a piece. As well as many others, last season i took over when they were 8th and bought them up to second for their highest league finish in a long time, only lost the title on the second last game of the season when i went to anfield and lost 5-2 after being down to 10 men. This season i am second on 51 points from 25 games. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7767-football-manager-starting-eleven/#findComment-214849 Share on other sites

Alex W
I see you both took the "Wenger" approach. As few Englishmen as possible. They're too expensive and too over-rated for the most part. Quite life-like really!
