Perky1106
Broken his leg in three places according to @Fourth_Official on Twitter. That's horrendously bad luck for Donny. They're going to struggle without him. I hope he recovers soonish.
Alph
Really? Glad we didn't sign him. Wise decision by the board. Big blow for Donny. And a shame for Billy Sharp. I know it's only August, and that Billy Sharp is only one player. But that may seriously damage their survival chances. At least they could take comfort that if they create chances they had a player who would score from them.
Alex W
Poor sod, I know they make more money than sense, but leg breaks can easily be career enders, even if less so these days. Hope he recovers quickly.
Day
Cracking player, heard on 5 Live he got took off on a stretcher. Massive blow for Donny, will be out for a few months with a multiple break.
davenportram
Is it wrong to be slightly relieved he will be missing the game against us in 2 weeks - he always scores against us.
davenportram
just seen the challenge that injured him, wasnt really a reckless or nasty one, just hard and a little poorly timed. Bad luck really

Day
A triple leg break you'd expect to see a leg at a funny angle at some point in the challenge.
StaffsRam
Didn't Hayter go off injured as well? Pretty much a nightmare day for Donny.

Perky1106
Couldn't really be a worse opening day for them. It's scary really, how vulnerable so many clubs are to injuries (including ourselves) and the crippling consequences on the rest of the season's results. Claridge was saying just now that it's not always about one player but it often is. For Doncaster it is Sharp like for us last year it was Commons or Kuqi. But now I feel I can sleep a little easier because I don't think there is any particular player in the team who we rely on fully.

Perky1106
joe youre right! but claridge its a dick....and dunt know what he's on about I have nothing against him but the shows' format that has him as an alone studio pundit with the stats of how many league experiences he made always rolling underneath him seems to put him on a pedestal as some sort of overlord expert of the whole Football League, when he clearly isn't. Redshaw_Ram
I'm pretty sure Steve Claridge also claimed that Preston were a hard to team to beat last season. Anyway, I hope Sharp's and Hayter's injuries are not as bad as feared and that they are back playing just in time for their match against Bristol City.
