davenportram
http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~2321809,00.html Looks like Barks will be playing against Coventry and Leeds. Seems he was taken off to make sure he was available for those games - after getting a few knocks on his knee and so he didnt get booked and suspended. CumbrianRam
I'd rather he have his operation now, he is really struggling this seson.
WorksopRam
I'd get it done asap, before the problem gets worse and he becomes dead weight in defence. Addison can fill in at CB
WilkoRam
I'd get the op done now. I don't agree with players playing a prolonged time through injuries. If a player needs an op then the op should get done before anything gets aggravated. Addison and Ayala for the last games would be fine for me rather having a partially fit Barker playing and then have him unavailable during pre-season

Stupid Sporting Life said he was booked for their penno. I would rather he had the op and was ready for next year, it seems his entire Derby career he has been not quite fit. Booking and enforced suspension would have been a blessing in disguise
RamNut
op now....so there are no excuses next year. also...it would be useful to see Addison at CB again because he aint a midfielder.

We need him to have a full pre season for our guaranteed top six season next year. Should have it ASAP so he can be fit in plenty of time in my opinion. UTR.93
understand putting this decision off but why it wasn't done ages ago when it was first required us normal people will never know
davenportram
understand putting this decision off but why it wasn't done ages ago when it was first required us normal people will never know Because we only had Barker and Leacock fit for most of the season, and since Chrimble Leacock is out of favour. Asanovic
One minute I hear people saying we're not yet safe, the next they are saying Barker shouldn't be risked. If we're not safe he should be played. The medical team obviously know it won't have any huge implications if he plays.

Should have it ASAP so he can be fit in plenty of time in my opinion. And, if he went for the op now, we end up being relegated, how many fans would be saying 'what an idiot' for losing his services before we are safe. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. aussie_ram
I watched one of Sullivans phydio report's, and he mentioned the problem to be (if my memory is correct) a small tear in the meniscus, so playing through this will cause some discomfort, but not any lasting damage to the knee or any other body parts. Pretty much all the surgery will be is a keyhole surgery to just clean up the tear. I had a similar surgery on my labral in my right hip. The recovery time will be a probably 6 weeks because there is limited blood flow to those types of tissues. So in my opinion, let barker help the team out!! JohnClement
Keep playing, dont have an operation a sure way of turning a minor injury into a major one and ruining a player's career. Play Leacock, Addison or Anderson now fit instead. This seems to be one of few positions we have any cover for at the moment. Shaun should have the operation, a rest and try and be fully fit for next seaon. He has been carrying this all season and we the fans should let him know how much his whole hearted effort has been appreciated.
PeteDerby
Keep playing, dont have an operation a sure way of turning a minor injury into a major one and ruining a player's career. . From that comment should one deduce that you think that the specialists who are saying that continuining to play with this specific injury won't cause more damage are a). lying or b). incompetent ? JohnClement
The way Derbys County's injuries are managed leads me to think that either the medical staff are incompetent, or there is too much pressure to play players who are not fit and make injuries much worse, especially if we havent got a balanced squad example only 2 specialist full backs 1 left, 1 right.
