I think this is a massive hail mary from the city because they can see what is coming. All kinds of rumours are circling with players looking to the exit door, not renewing contracts and with amoral Pep on his way to his next super club they may struggle with succession planning. I hope the league go to the mat with them to at least put some leash on the excessive spending of these clubs. We need a strong governing body who will finally put a stop to the madness.
